Mike ChiariFeb 24, 2015

Veteran Shawn Marion is in search of his second career NBA title before calling it quits, but the Cleveland Cavaliers swingman has been on the shelf due to injury. He is expected to return Sunday night against the Orlando Magic.

Marion Expected to Return vs. Magic

Sunday, March 15

Chris B. Haynes of Cleveland.com reported that Marion "will be in uniform" when the Cavs take on the Magic. Marion has missed the last 12 games with his injury.

Haynes reported earlier on Sunday that Marion could return on Sunday.

On Feb. 24, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com revealed that the four-time NBA All-Star was slated to miss two weeks with a hip strain.

The former Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors and Dallas Mavericks star has already announced that he intends to retire at the conclusion of the season.

Per Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal, The Matrix's goal is to rest up as much as possible with an eye toward the postseason.

"We have a good thing going right now. It's about the bigger picture to me," Marion said. "I'll force it if I need. Right now it's still early, we still have a little time."

The Cavs have been on a roll as of late, and they may very well be the favorites to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.

Marion's numbers are modest this season, with averages of roughly five points and 3.5 rebounds per game, but he has a wealth of playoff experience and is certainly someone the Cavaliers will want to have available down the stretch.
