Daily Fantasy Hockey 2015: NHL DraftKings Studs and Duds for February 24
The NHL was very quiet on Monday with only four teams in action, but Tuesday will feature 11 games and 22 teams. This is a very exciting time of year because of the impending trade deadline, and now is a great time to try and get the most value out of your picks.
Some players are receiving increased ice time in an attempt to be polished up for a potential trade, and these same players may carry a low salary with DraftKings. Finding these values is very important, because it is hard to fill out a roster with only $50,000.
There are a number of bargain values you should covet for Tuesday's action, and there are also some players you should avoid at all costs. Without wasting any more time, here are your studs and duds for February 24.

Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
Studs
Brandon Saad, Chicago Blackhawks ($4,700)

Brandon Saad has 40 points in 60 games this season, and he has provided solid value over the last 10 games for Chicago. The dynamic American winger has eight points in his last 10 games and an average of 3.0 fantasy points per game during that span.
He should keep up the good work against the Florida Panthers, a team that is currently outside of the playoff picture.
Anders Lee, New York Islanders ($4,700)

At $4,700, Anders Lee is a great buy. The 24-year-old has thrived for the New York Islanders this season, and he's got 31 points to his name. Lee has been on fire as of late, with 11 points in his last 10 games and an average of 4.5 fantasy points per game over that span.
He is a great pickup given his consistency, and his price tag is great for what he's done on Long Island this season.
Kevin Hayes, New York Rangers ($3,500)

If you are looking for a great fit for your utility slot, Hayes is a great value for the bargain-bin price of $3,500. The Rangers signed Hayes as an unrestricted free agent this summer after he failed to come to a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks, and he's hit his stride over the last few weeks.
He's played so well that he is among the NHL leaders in scoring during five vs. five play, according to Martin R. Burns from Blue Seat Blogs.
It's amazing to see how he's produced in his rookie year, and Hayes has eight points in his last 10 games, including an average of 3.4 fantasy points per game during that stretch.
Tyson Barrie, Colorado Avalanche ($5,400)
Tyson Barrie is a solid offensive defender for the Colorado Avalanche who has 36 points in 58 games this season.
The Avs' second-pairing blueliner has five goals and eight points in his last 10 games and has averaged 3.9 fantasy points per game over that stretch. While this production is great for any defender, did I mention Barrie is only 23?
He's a great buy at $5,400 because it would cost you $900 more to take someone like P.K. Subban of the Montreal Canadiens, who has one more point and zero goals over the last 10 games.
Duds
Tuukka Rask, Boston Bruins ($8,500)

$8,500 is a lot to spend for a goalie who has really struggled as of late, and for that reason you should stay away from Tuukka Rask. The Bruins' starting netminder is 3-4-2 in his last nine appearances, and he's got a 2.49 goals-against average and .914 save percentage during that span.
Claude Giroux, Philadelphia Flyers ($8,000)
Claude Giroux is a talented offensive pivot with 57 points in 59 games this season, but he's in the middle of a slump. The Flyers captain has only five points in his last 10 games, and he's averaged only 2.5 fantasy points per game during that span.
| P. Datsyuk | 12 | $7,800 | $650 |
| C. Giroux | 5 | $8,000 | $1,600 |
| Difference | -7 | + $200 | + $950 |
Although the Flyers will be facing off against an inferior Carolina Hurricanes team, do yourself a favor and save $200 by getting the Detroit Red Wings' Pavel Datsyuk, who has 12 points in his last 10 games and 33 in 39 career games against the Los Angeles Kings.
Zach Parise, Minnesota Wild ($8,200)

Zach Parise is having a solid season for Minnesota, but on Tuesday night he isn't worth $8,200. Parise has eight points in his last 10 games and has averaged 3.7 fantasy points per game during that span.
While these are solid numbers, it makes sense to save $1,100 and take the NHL's leading scorer, Patrick Kane. Kane has eight points in his last 10 games and has averaged 3.6 fantasy points per game. The Blackhawks will be facing the Panthers, a team that's given up 2.68 goals per game this season.
