Noel Gallagher Appears on MOTD2, Praises 'The Brodge' Brendan Rodgers, Silva
Noel Gallagher, the former Oasis guitarist, made a guest appearance on Match of the Day 2 on Sunday night, using his time as a pundit to praise Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and hail the performance of Manchester City's David Silva.
Gallagher, 47 and a noted City fan, said he hoped that Rodgers, who he nicknamed "The Brodge," could lead Liverpool past Manchester United and into the Champions League places.
As reported by The Daily Telegraph:
"We thought the powers of The Brodge were waining, but he's turning it around. They're winning games without [Steven] Gerrard now. We need them to keep United out of the top four as City fans.
"
Gallagher also waxed lyrical over Silva after the Spaniard scored a brace at the weekend:
"I find it incredible that he's at our club, he's just so low-key, doesn't do interviews. He's an old-school footballer. He's not fouled a lot because you can't get near him. He's a wizard, I love him.
"
Presenter Mark Chapman stressed he was on the show to represent the fans' voice, but that didn't stop some of those fans taking to Twitter unimpressed with Gallagher's appearance:
"Noel Gallagher knows nothing about football outside of Manchester. And he has a daft haircut for a bloke his age. Tit.

"Why is Noel Gallagher on Match of The Day? He looks as if he's wandered on by accident.
