Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Bayern Munich: Team News, Predicted Lineups, Live Stream
The two sides haven't played one another in a competitive fixture since 1980, yet Pep Guardiola will be hopeful of making up for lost time with a tidy win in an away fixture that could cause problems for the current German champions.
Bayern have overcome some formidable opponents in Manchester City, Roma and CSKA Moscow to reach the first knockout round of the competition, yet Shakhtar—who have beaten BATE Borisov and played Athletic Bilbao and Porto—will offer something a little different on Tuesday night.

Predicted Lineup

Bayern will undoubtedly welcome back the presence of Jerome Boateng in the centre of defence alongside Mehdi Benatia, along with Rafinha and Juan Bernat on either wing.
In midfield, we're likely to see a trio of Xabi Alonso, David Alaba and Bastian Schweinsteiger in the hope of controlling the middle of the park with a well-placed mix of athleticism and technique.
This will then leave Guardiola to put Robert Lewandowski up front with Arjen Robben and either Thomas Muller or Mario Gotze to partner the striker on the left and right, respectively.
For Shakhtar, we should expect a flat back four of Darijo Srna, Olexandr Kucher, Yaroslav Rakitskiy and Marcio Azevedo while Fernando plays the holding midfield role alongside Fred and Taras Stepanenko serves his one-match ban.
This will of course then leave the front four of Douglas Costa, Alex Teixeira and Taison behind the goalscoring talent of Luiz Adriano.
Players to Watch
Luiz Adriano
When it comes to Shakhtar's individual talent, no player stands out quite as much as Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano. According to WhoScored.com, the striker has no less than nine goals in just five Champions League games, giving him a tally above all else, including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
If anyone is scoring for the home side in Ukraine on the night, it'll be Adriano.
Arjen Robben
Although Bayern don't have a player with the goal or assist totals to match Adriano's in the Champions League this season, Guardiola's side will be hopeful that trusted Dutchman Arjen Robben will come up with the goods on the night.
As WhoScored.com would have us believe, Robben has two goals and an assist in just three European appearances. Yet 14 league goals would suggest the winger is truly on fire at this moment in time.

Key Battles
Luiz Adriano vs. Jerome Boateng
The one central defender that Guardiola seems to trust at Bayern these days is Jerome Boateng, and as such, it will be down to the German international to keep Adriano quiet throughout the course of the game.
Bayern's high line will undoubtedly entice the Brazilian forward, and it will be up to Boateng, with all his technique and athleticism, to keep up with Shakhtar's top goalscorer.
Darijo Srna vs. Juan Bernat
Both Bayern and Shakhtar enjoy playing very attack-minded full-backs, and interestingly enough, it seems as though both will be coming face to face on the same flank on Tuesday.
Juan Bernat, often deployed as a full-back but usually found terrorising the opposing defence, will hope to bomb forward, as usual, but will need to keep an eye on Darijo Srna.
The Croatian international is an outstanding crosser of the ball and will be hoping to take advantage of Bernat's tendency to drift forward.
