WWE SmackDown: Spoiler-Free Preview for February 12

Ryan DilbertFeb 12, 2015

Tag teams take center stage on the Feb. 12 edition of WWE SmackDown.

A Tag Team Turmoil match is the main attraction on Thursday's show with plenty of Fastlane implications mixed in. Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns reform their partnership even after their collision on Monday's Raw. The two stars join the tag team division for the night, the threat of implosion looming.

Bray Wyatt, Adam Rose and the little-seen Summer Rae all step into the ring as well.

Dayton, Ohio, hosted all the action on Tuesday. It won't air on SyFy until Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.

Finding out how Bryan and Reigns fared early is easy. Spoilers await eager fans all over the Internet. For those fans looking to evade those, the following is a results-free look at all the matches lined up for Thursday's SmackDown.

R-Truth vs. Bray Wyatt

A showdown with a monster awaits R-Truth. The rapping wrestler hasn't been spotlighted at all recently. The man set to stand across from him is on a tear, ripping through his opposition as of late.

Wyatt enters as the heavy favorite. In his last outing, he knocked off Dolph Ziggler, his second consecutive win against The Showoff.

WWE continues to be prepping Wyatt for something big, presumably a battle with The Undertaker at WrestleMania. For now, The Eater of Worlds has no feud and no match scheduled for Fastlane.

R-Truth is in a similar position minus the building toward a major matchup. An upset victory here or even a strong showing in defeat points to R-Truth getting to tangle with Wyatt again soon.

Paige vs. Summer Rae

Fans will get a rare look at Summer as she tries to slow Paige's momentum. Summer hasn't wrestled on SmackDown since last November. She's been in just one match on Raw in 2015.

She'll likely get some help from Paige's lack of focus. The Bella Twins have shown up to Paige's bouts on a regular basis lately, the sisters looking to needle the No. 1 contender for the Divas Championship.

These two met several times at NXT, but that's not likely the story WWE will be looking to tell. This will be about Paige prepping for her upcoming title bout. She can either use Summer as a stepping stone or stumble en route to Fastlane.

Fandango vs. Adam Rose

A rivalry seems to be forming between two wrestlers WWE has largely ignored. They don't have much of a story to work, though, other than that Rose keeps abusing his Rosebuds.

The heel-versus-heel matchup doesn't ask the audience to root for anyone in particular. Fans who pull for underdogs should be in Rose's corner. He suffered defeat in their previous two meetings, including a quick loss on last week's SmackDown.

Expectations will be low for the action here. Neither performer has done much to stand out lately, and WWE has restricted their ring time.

Their last go-round lasted just over two-and-a-half minutes, per CageMatch.net.

Tag Team Turmoil

  • Damien Mizdow and The Miz
  • The Usos
  • Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns
  • Slater Gator
  • Kane and Big Show
  • Los Matadores
  • The Ascension

Fans of tag team wrestling will have plenty to enjoy on Thursday's SmackDown. The entire tag division, sans Goldust and Stardust and Cesaro and Tyson Kidd, will collide in a single match.

For the uninitiated, the Tag Team Turmoil format pits two teams against each other with the winner forced to face a new team. The process continues until one squad is the last one standing.

Reigns and Bryan, scheduled to lock horns at Fastlane, may struggle to make it through any matches. Animosity has escalated between them, last seen when Reigns speared Bryan to the mat on Monday's Raw.

Roman Reigns attacks Daniel Bryan.

The other teams involved here point to a number of subplots unfolding.

The Miz and Mizdow's alliance has splintered greatly. Miz has become abusive of his protege, leading fans to expect a babyface turn for Mizdow at any moment.

Including Kane and Big Show point to The Authority storyline playing a big part here. The Ascension will get a chance to prove themselves against quality competition. And as a bonus, Heath Slater returns to action.

The One Man Band had been out for two months before this.

As of yet, there is no tag title match set for Fastlane. Should Slater Gator or any other duo come out on top here, there will be an argument that they should emerge as No. 1 contenders.

WWE's main goal, though, will be to up the excitement level for Fastlane. Fans will have to tune in to see if that leads to another confrontation between Paige and The Bellas, new matches added to the card or Reigns trying to drive his shoulder into Bryan's gut again.
