Where Is Q Headed Now?
Did you ever play Hot Potato as a kid?
If not just pay attention because the NBA is playing a game of Hot Potato and Quentin Richarson is the potato.
During his nine year career, Q has played for three different teams. Spending four year in L.A. playing for the Clippers, one season in Phoenix and then the last four in New York. But in the last two months Q has jumped from three to SEVEN.
That's right seven.
So far this offseason Q has been traded four times. First he was traded from New York to Memphis for Darko Milicic. Secondly he was traded from Memphis back to where it all started, the Clippers for former teammate Zach Randolph. Then 18 days later he was traded from the Clippers to the T-wolves for a package of three players. Which brings us to yesterday when Q got shipped to South Beach to team up with workout partner D-Wade.
You have to wonder if Q will last a month in Miami let alone the whole season. Q is in the final year of this contract which could lead to him being trade bait at the trading deadline and Miami probably has no interest in resigning him after the season as they try to clear enough cap room to bring some star players to South Beach to team with Wade.
As a follower of Q since his days in High School at Whitney Young and his two years at DePaul, I wish him luck but it has become clear that Q will never live up to the promise he once showed and will probably spend the rest of his career as a journeyman.
