AC Milan, Juventus in Bickering Match over Camera Angles for Controversial Goal

Sean SwabyFeb 8, 2015

AC Milan were thoroughly beaten by Juventus 3-1 on Saturday, but the aftermath of the Serie A clash has deteriorated into a petty bickering match between the historic Italian sides.

Carlos Tevez's opener was a score under protest from AC Milan players, as they felt as though the 31-year-old Argentine was offside when the ball was played to him:

Like most controversial offside calls or non-calls, the goal was examined in the aftermath. But the source of the verbal jabs between the clubs is the camera angle.

AC Milan tweeted out on their official account (above) the angle in question in Italian (translation courtesy of Project Babb): "In your view are the lines produced by Juventus on this replay parallel? We don't think so."

Because Milan CEO Adriano Galliani made sure to make note of it, it's worth noting that Juventus apparently are the only Serie A club that supply its own angles.

Galliani told the club's official site, per the same Project Babb piece:

"

Milan do not intend to stir up controversy, but make clear and precise request. At this moment the 10 Serie A games are put together by six Sky directors, three Mediaset directors and one independent director.

Milan ask that from next season all the directors are independent and do not come from broadcasters who have bought the rights to the Serie A matches.

"

Juventus' response to the side that's now 24 points adrift of the leaders in ninth place?

Sour grapes.

They released an official statement on the matter, per Football Italiamocking Milan:

"

Mr. Adriano Galliani, Vice-President and CEO of AC Milan and Vice-President of the Lega Serie A, has recently returned to his old passions: television and geometry.

However, Galliani appears to ignore the laws of the State, regularly approved unanimously by the Lega and above all the 'pitch.'

Basically Galliani is throwing bait to the media for a specious and farcical controversy so he can clumsily mask to the eyes of the Milanisti the very clear result on the field in last night's game. Three to One.
