Getzlaf Game-Time Decision vs. Lightning
Saturday, Feb. 7
Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times reported that Getzlaf skated with the team Saturday morning and is currently a game-time decision, adding this from head coach Bruce Boudreau:
""He felt better. Did he feel good enough to go? I guess we'll find out [Sunday at the] morning skate," Ducks Coach Bruce Boudreau said. "He said he's feeling better. Whether that's close to the level Ryan Getzlaf wants to play, or better than the day before, I didn't push it. He'll let me know."
"
Pugmire reported Getzlaf missed his second-straight game vs. Washington Friday night.
Getzlaf Scratched vs. Predators With Lower-Body Injury
Thursday, Feb. 5
After the Ducks' 5-2 win, coach Bruce Boudreau shed some light on the situation.
"It's a lower-body injury. That's all I'm saying right now," he said, per NHL.com's Robby Stanley. "It's day-to-day, and we'll probably know more before we hit Tampa [Bay on Feb. 8] anyway. I don't even know if he can play [Friday against the Washington Capitals], but he's coming to Washington with us."
Getzlaf has been one of Anaheim's most consistent offensive threats. His 52 points are tied for sixth in the league, and he's tied for fourth in assists (36).
The Ducks are the best team in the Western Conference at the moment with 74 points, leading the Predators and St. Louis Blues by two points. As long as Getzlaf's injury is just a day-to-day issue and he makes a speedy return, the team shouldn't be in too much trouble during his absence.
