Smith Suffers Lower Body Injury vs. Stars
Thursday, Feb. 5
Tampa Bay Lightning star defenseman Jason Garrison left the ice during Thursday's 5-3 win over the Dallas Stars with a lower-body injury.
Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune reported the news:
Garrison is a dynamic two-way player whom the Lightning wouldn't like to lose for an extended period of time.
The physical presence he brings on defense is hard to replicate, as the 30-year-old is listed at 6'2" and 218 pounds. Garrison's booming shot makes him a scoring threat at any moment, too. He's posted 20 points in 48 games this season.
Offense is thankfully not a problem for Tampa Bay. The club entered Thursday as the NHL leader with 3.2 goals per game and lit the lamp five times in Dallas' American Airlines Center.
