UFC Would Book Georges St-Pierre vs. Anderson Silva, GSP Has No Plans to Return

UFC President Dana White wants to arrange a superfight starring two of the sport's biggest names. 

Speaking with the media after UFC 183, White was asked if Anderson "The Spider" Silva vs. Georges St-Pierre was still within the realm of possibility. He responded confidently, saying he's 100 percent interested in that bout (h/t Tim Burke of Bloody Elbow). 

"Yeah, I think anything is possible," White said. "If Georges St-Pierre wanted that fight, I would definitely make that fight. I'm sure Anderson would too."

While that fight would undoubtedly provide a massive payday for the UFC and for the fighters, at least one of the parties involved is uninterested. 

According to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani, GSP does not want to sign up for that fight—or any other bout—at this time. 

"Georges is really enjoying his life right now," GSP's manager, Rodolphe Beaulieu, told Helwani, "and has no plan of coming back."

St-Pierre has not fought since November of 2013, when he scored a controversial split-decision victory over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167. Shortly thereafter, GSP vacated his welterweight title and took an indefinite hiatus from the sport. 

Despite being removed from the cage for almost 15 months at this point, GSP still represents one of the UFC's biggest attractions. Any fight involving the Canadian superstar will make headlines and reach a mainstream audience, and a matchup with the Brazilian legend, Silva, might just be the biggest fight in UFC history. 

Unfortunately for fans, it looks like this one is unlikely to happen unless GSP has a change of heart.
