WWE Fast Lane 2015: Titles Most Likely to Change Hands at Event

The WWE Universe doesn’t know what to expect from the inaugural edition of the Fast Lane pay-per-view, but the company should be going all-in on the show, as the road to WrestleMania has officially begun.

With the WWE Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns set in stone, fans are now wondering which of the other titles will most likely change hands at Fast Lane.

Setting the stage for WrestleMania 31 will be one of WWE’s primary focuses, and there is a good chance that fans will be treated to several championship belts changing hands.

Intercontinental Championship Scene Gets a Marquee Storyline

The Intercontinental Championship should be regarded as the second-most important title in the company, but the way Bad News Barrett has been booked as champion has made both him and the belt look terrible.

At Fast Lane, it's time for Barrett to lose the championship.

Barrett's dropping the belt would help the company in several ways. Firstly, moving Barrett away from the title would instantly help him begin winning again. Barrett should be one of the top contenders to win the upcoming Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 31.

On the other hand, WWE has a chance to create a marquee secondary storyline surrounding the IC title. The most intriguing possibility would be a rivalry between The Miz and Mizdow based on the Intercontinental Championship. The two men teased tension at the Royal Rumble, and giving the belt to Mizdow in a fluke victory could spur the breakup by making Miz jealous. If Mizdow refuses to hand over his belt to The Miz, the WrestleMania match would be set.

With The Miz and Mizdow feuding over the IC title and Barrett free to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, a title change at Fast Lane could potentially spawn two of the most exciting moments at WrestleMania.

Tyson Kidd and Cesaro Ready for the Tag Team Championships?

Overall, the tag team division has been lackluster. While The Usos have done well in their roles as top faces, there is a serious lack of tag team depth on the roster.

One team that has emerged recently as a viable championship contender is that of Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. The two men were wallowing in singles competition, but their tag team has become one of the most cohesive units in the division.

Kidd and Cesaro have strung together several marquee wins, including a huge victory over The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Big E on the Royal Rumble pre-show. No team is more worthy of a tag team title shot than Kidd and Cesaro.

As seen in NXT, the decision to change titles without much notice can work, and giving the belts to the heel duo of Kidd and Cesaro could spawn an intriguing long-term feud against The Usos. With casual fans invested in The Usos and hardcore fans supporting Kidd and Cesaro, this will be a marquee storyline that should yield a title change at Fast Lane.

Paige Deserves to Win the Divas Championship

The Divas Championship has been an afterthought in the WWE for a long time, but former titleholder Paige has infused the division with a unique look and personality over her first year on the main roster.

At Fast Lane, Nikki Bella will defend her belt against Paige, but the presence of the champion's sister, Brie, could ultimately play a role in the outcome of this match. Instead of having Brie interfere to help Nikki win, this would be the perfect opportunity to tease dissension between the sisters.

Despite being forced to be her sister’s servant for a month following Hell in a Cell, Brie and Nikki are working fine together now, which doesn’t make any sense. While the hope was that Brie was tricking her sister like Daniel Bryan did with Bray Wyatt, it has been slow-played far too long, and no one cares about the angle.

The hope is that Paige will win the belt and clean the slate for the division. With The Bella Twins moving away from the title scene, a Brie vs. Nikki match at WrestleMania without the belt would be a great addition to the card.

Add in Paige on her second run with the Divas Championship, and women’s wrestling would have two interesting matches for the biggest show of the year.
