Super Bowl 2015 Live Stream: Mobile Info, Start Time for Seahawks vs. Patriots

Adam WellsFeb 1, 2015

In this world of technological advancements, no one is just watching the Super Bowl on his or her television set. It's an immersive experience that you can enjoy on virtually any electronic appliance in your house, especially your cell phone.

As phones have become more about entertainment than actually making calls, the NFL has used its platform as the country's most popular sport to make it easier for fans to watch anything and everything they could possibly hope for.

Even in a game as big as the Super Bowl, which should be experienced on a huge screen, sometimes there are factors that get in the way, like work, or your television pixels die and you are stuck. As long as you have a cell phone, everything will be okay.

Here's a look at how you can watch the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks on your mobile device as well as the features that make it a near-comparable experience to having a television.

When: Sunday, February 1, at 6:30 p.m. ET

Where: University of Phoenix Stadium

Mobile Features

Since mobile devices are being built with a lot of the same features you will find in television sets—after all, most new devices have a high-definition camera built in—the full experience of Super Bowl Sunday will be at your disposal.

On the NBC Sports website, fans have been enjoying all-day coverage so far. It got started at noon with pregame coverage, but that's hardly all you can look forward to.

Everything that happens inside the University of Phoenix Stadium will be available, including Idina Menzel's rendition of the national anthem, Katy Perry's halftime show with Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott and the postgame show that will include the trophy presentation.

Anyone who watches the Super Bowl knows that the event is more about the events leading up to the game than what happens on the field. The only people who care about the Patriots vs. Seahawks are fans of those teams.

Since there are 30 NFL fanbases disappointed that their team isn't playing Sunday night, the NFL has provided plenty of entertainment for you on the mobile app. Clay Matthews of the Green Bay Packers tweeted Saturday that fans could see the "Who's Gonna Win" light show:

The NFL app was also given an update for the big game that will allow fans to watch the commercials and a special new feature, per Jacob Long of AndroidPolice.com:

"

For non-attendees, it isn't necessarily an update that makes the app a must-download. If you have it and like it already, great. If you have Verizon, definitely jump on it if you want a different way to follow the game. Otherwise, the main addition is aggregating news that is specifically about the Super Bowl and not other NFL matters.

"

The aggregate feature is an interesting addition to the NFL's catalog, as it basically takes all of the fun that comes with something like Twitter and Facebook and tailors it specifically to football fans.

As much fun as those social media sites will be to follow Sunday night, whether it's critiquing commercials or instant overreactions from every play, there is also a lot of fluff that can float around that nobody wants to read about.

When the Super Bowl is on, all you want to focus on is that. No one cares about Dave from Albany's new sweater. He can save that for after the Patriots and Seahawks are done. You won't have to worry about seeing that by following along on your mobile device, since it's going to be an all-inclusive event.
