Best Feuds for Dean Ambrose on Road to WrestleMania 31
One of the stars getting lost in the shuffle following the controversy surrounding the Royal Rumble is Dean Ambrose, and the WWE Superstar needs a marquee feud heading into Fast Lane and WrestleMania 31.
With Ambrose’s ability to be a perfect antagonist to both heels and faces due to his unpredictable character, the possibilities are endless for a storyline on the road to WrestleMania. Possible options include Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and Sheamus.
Here are the best feuds for Ambrose leading into WrestleMania 31.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Turning Heel on Daniel Bryan
When Ambrose was with FCW before getting the call-up to the main roster, he was one of the most intriguing heels in the business, cutting psychopathic promos and channeling some of the most hated characters in wresting history.
There are currently a plethora of top faces in the company, and turning Ambrose heel right now would likely mean more marquee matches and feuds for the talented star. It would be hard to turn a wrestler as popular as Ambrose heel, but attacking Bryan and beating him down would ensure he was booed out of the building.
Bryan is arguably the top star in the WWE at the moment, and the hardcore fans are beyond disappointed that he didn’t win the Royal Rumble. Instead of shoehorning Bryan into the WrestleMania main event, turning Ambrose heel and giving the WWE Universe Bryan vs. Ambrose would be a great consolation prize.
From an in-ring perspective, a feud between Bryan and Ambrose could conceivably spawn several Match of the Year candidates. Each of these men is incredibly talented technically, but it is their ability to tell a believable story that makes them so good.
From a storyline and psychological perspective, the battle between Bryan and Ambrose would be incredible. Ambrose has emerged as one of the best talkers in the business, and as the antagonist to Bryan’s protagonist, the WWE Universe would be treated to an incredible story.
It’s a long shot, but a heel Ambrose squaring off against the babyface Bryan would be WrestleMania-worthy.
Finishing the Job Against Seth Rollins
One of the most intriguing possibilities for Ambrose heading into WrestleMania would be reviving the feud against Seth Rollins and finally getting a chance to finish the job he started.
Rollins and Ambrose were longtime partners in The Shield, but Rollins turned his back on Ambrose and joined forces with The Authority. The two men had several incredible matches, but Bray Wyatt inserted himself in the storyline, and the fans never got the proper finish to the Ambrose vs. Rollins angle.
While Ryback was the man who came out to attack Rollins on SmackDown, the involvement of Erick Rowan and Dolph Ziggler indicates that they were just trying to send a message to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, not start a one-on-one feud.
That leaves the door wide open for Ambrose to attack Rollins on next week’s Raw.
Not only is this the marquee secondary feud and match that a blockbuster PPV like WrestleMania 31 needs, but it also provides the perfect distraction for Rollins if he will be cashing in the Money in the Bank contract at the biggest show of the year.
If Ambrose takes the loss at Fast Lane and gets it back by winning at WrestleMania 31, it would suggest there would be a third match to settle the score. Rollins successfully cashing in on Roman Reigns after he wins the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar likely would also spawn a match at Extreme Rules, and the groundwork would be set for a possible Triple Threat match featuring all the members of The Shield.
Regardless of how the feud shakes out, the battle between Ambrose and Rollins would make for a great match on the WrestleMania card and a deserving moment for a star as talented as Ambrose.
Helping Sheamus Return as a Top Heel
Another distinct possibility would be using Ambrose’s rapport with the WWE Universe to get over a current face as a top heel. With the fans loving Ambrose, a Superstar like Sheamus turning heel against him would be an effective use of both men.
Sheamus is one of the most talented big men in the industry today, but he has been stale for years and is in dire need of a character change. With a deep group of top faces in the company and a lack of elite heels, Sheamus would make for an interesting bad guy in the WWE.
The turn could begin in the program against Ambrose.
The key in any successful turn is finding the right opponent. Sheamus will still get cheered by many fans upon his return, so he will need to fight a star who is very over with the fans. Ambrose is one of the most popular stars in the WWE right now, and Sheamus interfering in one of his matches, costing him the win and beating him down should be enough to get him over as a clear heel.
Ambrose and Sheamus would put on a great match at WrestleMania 31, but it would be Ambrose’s ability to get Sheamus over as a heel to the WWE Universe that would be his biggest contribution at the PPV.
There is little doubt Ambrose would have to take the loss at WrestleMania, but as we have seen since he joined the company, The Lunatic Fringe always bounces back.
