Allen Iverson: Love Of The Game

People say Iverson is washed up, a ball hog, and can never take a team anywhere and is a waste of money. I agree that a guy 2 seasons ago was averaging about 27 points a game and having a teammate average 25 be a ball hog who is washed up. he led his team to a 50-32 record. 10 years ago, that would be a 4 seed, nowadays its a 8 seed. he got eliminated by the Lakers, who were this years NBA champions. I do agree he cant take a team anywhere even though in 2001 he led a team with the next best players being eric snow and larry hughes. larry hughes would have maybe started for one other team and eric snow was easily a backup for any other team. Iverson managed to get that team to the finals against the lakers, who had shaq and kobe. the lakers were expected to easily sweep with the closest game probably being about 97-86. the first game of the series, Iverson led his team to a 107-101 overtime victory. Iverson scored 13 of the final 15 points of the game to lead his team. Iverson finished the game with 48 points.

Allen Iverson is the NBA's most prolific scorer ever. After averaging 18 points a game last year, he still manages to have a career average of 27.1 ppg. He was Rookie of the year, MVP of the rookie game,  NBA all rookie team, MVP, MVP of the all starts 2, 3 all NBA first team and 3 all NBA second team, 10 STRAIGHT NBA all star, 3 steal titles, and 4 scoring titles. him and Kobe entered the NBA at the same time. Kobe has played 42 more games than Iverson yet Iverson has 163 more points. Iverson is 6 all time in NBA history for steals per game and Kobe isn't even in the top 25, and yet Kobe is known as a better defender. Kobe is known as the best scorer yet Iverson is 5 all time in NBA history by averaging 27.1 ppg and Kobe averages 25.1 and is 10 all time.

I'n not saying Kobe isn't amazing, cause he is. what I'm trying to say is Iverson is amazing too. The fact that Iverson isn't on a team is rediculous. that is like Michael Jordan not having a team to play for. People say Iverson is a thug. Iverson isn't allowed to dress like every other person in the U.S. Also, he made a rap album but they said his lyrics were offending homosexuals. he says "Come to me wit faggot tendacies
You'll be sleepin where the maggots be." there are songs offending women that are way worse. Iverson busts his ass every game and plays it like its his last. he plays through injuries constantly. there is a highlight of Iverson diving for a steal and passing it up-court to a player, and that player heaves the ball up the court and h is there laying it up. that is hustle.

Everyone constantly doubts Iverson and he has always been criticized. Everything he does people find a way to make it bad. Iverson makes a shot, he is a ball hog, Iverson misses the bal, he is the worst shooter. Iverson isn't the fastest player in the NBA, he is washed up. Iverson plays for a completely different offense and doesn't do well, he ruins a franchise even though Joe Dumars wanted Stuckey to start. AFter all of this, he still is willing to bust his ass day in and day out. that is heart. that is love for the game.
