The Royal Rumble Battle Royal
Despite the lackluster build leading into the event, the match that will undoubtedly steal the show is the 30-man, over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble to crown the No. 1 contender for the world title at WrestleMania 31.
The Rumble is one of the longest matches of the year, and it possesses a unique set of rules. The WWE Universe understands the importance of the bout and the magnitude of what it means for the wrestler who is victorious.
What makes this year’s match so intriguing is the fact that it is unclear who will walk away victorious. There were several years in the past where it was clear months ahead of time which wrestler was going to win, but the WWE has sold several stars as viable contenders.
Whether it’s Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, Sheamus or one of the other top wrestlers on the card, there is a case to be made for each of the aforementioned stars as a viable winner Sunday.
With 30 of the best wrestlers in the business taking the ring, plenty of surprises and the Road to WrestleMania taking shape, the long-term ramifications of the Royal Rumble match will help the bout steal the show once again.
The Usos vs. The Miz and Mizdow
Most fans are overlooking the WWE Tag Team Championship match between The Usos and The Miz and Mizdow, and that’s the perfect opportunity the men involved need to put on a great performance and steal the show.
The in-ring work between these four men will not be the best on the card, but this match must be all about the story being told. The WWE has teased tension between The Miz and Mizdow, and it is imperative that the two men foreshadow a breakup throughout the bout.
Mizdow should finally get tagged into the match after waiting so long and go on a tear, almost winning the belts for his team. With The Miz being jealous and selfish, he could cost the duo the tag team championships and blame the loss on Mizdow.
At that point, tension would be boiling over, and it would culminate in a huge spot during the Royal Rumble match itself. With The Miz already in the match, Mizdow refusing to eliminate himself and eventually throwing out his former teammate would be a special moment Philadelphia fans would embrace.
The feud would ultimately culminate in a marquee undercard match at WrestleMania, but this entire breakup program would begin with a show-stealing match at the 2015 Royal Rumble.
