Iman Marshall to USC: Twitter Reacts to 5-Star CB Prospect's Commitment

Matt FitzgeraldFeb 4, 2015

Cornerback Iman Marshall is among the most coveted recruits in the class of 2015, and USC received a big boost to its secondary by landing the phenom from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California. Marshall announced the decision via Bleacher Report.

Marshall, a 5-star recruit, is the No. 4 high school prospect overall and the top-rated cornerback in the country, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

His choices were narrowed to USC, UCLA, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame and Florida State, but Marshall stayed home with the Trojans in the end.

Let's get to some of the notable reactions on Twitter from Wednesday regarding Marshall's national signing day decision.

Ryan Abraham of USCFootball.com tweeted a neat graphic upon Marshall's official signing:

Fox Sports West and Sporting News appreciated the approach Marshall took to the breaking news of his college decision:

Holly Rowe of ESPN also praised Marshall's creativity in crafting the music video:

ESPN Stats & Info noted what Marshall's commitment means for the Trojans' program history and how much he bolsters a strong 2015 class:

On his 247Sports profile, Marshall's major attributes are measured on a scale of one to 10. Although his speed is considered a seven out of 10 despite a 4.50-second 40-yard dash, he's a perfect 10 on instincts and scores nine on recovery speed and change of direction.

Bleacher Report College Football Analysts Michael Felder, Adam Kramer and Barrett Sallee broke down which top recruits can instantly help their program win a national title, with Marshall being discussed near the end of the following video:

Mark Whicker of the LA News Group believes Marshall's future is bright:

Nick Baumgardner of MLive.com reported a gaudy aspiration Marshall is chasing as a Trojan:

Marshall also tallies eights from 247Sports in reactive quickness, ball skills and length, making him a strong all-around corner. With the agility Marshall has, his knack for plucking the ball and how fluid his hip movements are, he can cover any type of receiver.

USC has to be thrilled to have Marshall commit, as he'll help the defensive backfield right away. He projects well for special teams coverage too, thanks to his smooth athleticism and size to tackle.

With the natural gifts Marshall has as a cornerback combined with his upside and size advantage entering college, he figures to be an exceptional player whose next career chapter will be compelling to monitor.
