Michael Vick: Latest News, Rumors and Speculation Surrounding Free-Agent QB
Michael Vick was unable to distinguish himself as the New York Jets' starting quarterback with Geno Smith as his only competition. It's therefore hard to imagine that the aging veteran Vick will be called upon as anything more than a backup in free agency this offseason.
According to Metro's Kristian Dyer, Vick and teammate Chris Johnson aren't expected to be retained by the Jets:
"Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a league source tells Metro New York that the Jets appear set to let go running back Chris Johnson as well as quarterback Michael Vick. ...
As for Vick, the Jets right now are going to let him test free agency, the source said, indicating that there is no talk of a contract offer to retain the veteran as of right now. One source indicated that a return to the Jets is possible, and that might be of interest to the veteran quarterback, but as of right now “he will be allowed to test free agency.”
Based what the Jets do in free agency, as well as the NFL Draft, Vick could then be offered another contract, in all likelihood another one-year deal.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Vick, who turns 35 in June, has relapsed into poor accuracy as a pocket passer and displayed a tendency to turn the ball over since a career renaissance in Philadelphia.
But there is no denying Vick can create explosive plays with his combination of instincts as a ball-carrier and the rocket arm strapped to his left shoulder. Those attributes still make him a serviceable option.
The market is a bit thin on quarterbacks this offseason, which helps Vick's prospects of continuing his career.
If he can exercise better caution with the football and remain healthy, Vick may still yet have a chance to see extended action on the NFL gridiron again as a member of a potential suitor looking for a veteran presence at the position.
