Barr Done for Season After Knee Surgery

Friday, Dec. 19

Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr enjoyed an excellent rookie season, but it has reached a premature conclusion.

According to Mark Craig of The Star Tribune, the UCLA product will miss the remainder of the campaign due to minor knee surgery:

Per Aj Mansour of KFAN 100.3, the procedure will be similar to one conducted to repair a meniscus tear:

Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press has more on Barr:

Barr is very much in the discussion for Defensive Rookie of the Year honors with 70 tackles, four sacks, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.

Missing the final two games may damage his case, but there is no doubt that the 22-year-old star has a potentially great career ahead of him.
