2009 Denver Nugget Player Projections

Here are my 2009/2010 Denver Nuggets' player projections:

Starters

Point Gaurd - Chauncey Billups

I'm predicting Billups' points will drop while his assists improve with JR Smith likely starting at shooting guard. Another solid season for Billups though.

Shooting Guard - JR Smith

81G. 23ppg. 5apg. 5rpg. 49%fg. 42%3pt. TO4 .5SPG

This will be Smith's break out year. Playing full time with Billups will lead him to his first All-Star Game and the JR Smith everybody has been waiting to see.

Small Forward - Carmelo Anthony

81G. 23ppg. 6apg. 9rpg. 45%fg. 39%3pt. TO6

'Melo gains his scoring form after fully recovering from his nagging elbow injury and improves his rebounding and defense.

Power Forward - Kenyon Martin

74G. 9pp. 4apg. 6.5rpg. 48%fg. 25%3pt. 1.5SPG

Kenyon will drop in just about every category due to the fact of age and JR Smith starting. I don't see Kenyon scoring as much, but I see his assists jumping up a bit.

Center - Nene

Nene will have another solid season with a slight increase in points and rebounds.

Key Bench Players

Chris Andersen

81G. 8ppg. 8rpg. 56%fg. 2.8bpg

Chris Andersen will improve on just about everything this year, and have the best season of his career.

Arron Afflalo

81g. 8ppg. 3apg. 46%fg. 36%3pt.

Afflalo will have a very solid year helping Denver with another three-ball threat and helping with the perimeter defense.

Ty Lawson

78G. 7ppg. 5apg. 42%fg. 33%3pt.

Lawson will have a great rookie year and help take some of the minutes off Billups. 

Linas Kleiza (if he returns)

79G. 10ppg. 3rpg. 37%3pt.

Kleiza will have an OK year, but if he stays in Denver I see him being traded by the deadline.
