Odell Beckham Tops 90 Receiving Yards in 6th Consecutive Game

Bleacher Report MilestonesDec 9, 2014

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. topped 90 receiving yards for a sixth consecutive game in Sunday's 36-7 win over the Tennessee Titans, giving him the longest such streak by a rookie in American professional football history, according to Pro-Football-Reference.com.

Rookie or not, Beckham is one of just 14 players to hit 90 receiving yards in six or more consecutive games, though the feat has been accomplished 16 times thanks to Calvin Johnson on three separate occasions.

The record for consecutive 90-yard receiving performances is nine, set by Michael Irvin for the Dallas Cowboys over the first nine games of the 1995 season.

Despite missing the Giants' first four games with a hamstring injury, Beckham has made his rookie campaign one of the most memorable in recent NFL history.

He has 59 catches for 829 yards and six touchdowns in just nine games, with a Giants rookie record of four 100-yard receiving performances, per the team's official Twitter account.

The last six games have been especially fruitful for the 22-year-old LSU product, as his 49 receptions during that time are the most in NFL history by a rookie over a six-game span, per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN.com). The previous record of just 41 was jointly held by running back Terry Kirby (1994 Miami Dolphins) and wide receiver Anquan Boldin (2003 Arizona Cardinals).

Perhaps most impressive of all, Beckham's 6.56 receptions and 92.1 receiving yards per game would work out to approximately 105 catches for 1,474 yards over the course of a 16-game season, which would give him the NFL rookie records in both categories, per NFL.com.
