Andre Johnson Needs 4 More Catches to Reach 1,000 for Career

Bleacher Report MilestonesDec 19, 2014

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson enters Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens needing just four more catches to become the 10th player ever with 1,000 career receptions, per Pro-Football-Reference.

After missing a Week 15 loss to the Indianapolis Colts because of a concussion suffered the previous week, Johnson is expected to play as the Texans desperately cling to their fading playoff hopes, per Brian T. Smith the Houston Chronicle.

While Houston should have its all-time leading receiver available, fellow wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is in danger of missing the contest due to a sprained ankle.

Hopkins' absence would likely lead to more targets for Johnson, but with the Texans down to their third quarterback of the season, there's still no guarantee that the 33-year-old veteran will reach the milestone during Sunday's game.

After losing quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a broken leg during last week's defeat, Texans head coach Bill O'Brien decided to keep quiet in regards to Week 16, declining to make a public choice between Case Keenum and Thad Lewis.

According to Kevin Patra of NFL.com, Keenum will likely get the start over Lewis for Sunday's all-important game, despite being signed just earlier this week.

The move does make quite a bit of sense, as Lewis has only been with the team for three weeks, while Keenum was previously with the Texans for training camp and the preseason.

Keenum also played in eight games for Houston last year, albeit with poor results under a different head coach.
