DeSean Jackson Injury: Updates on Redskins Star's Shoulder and Return
Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson is active for the team's season opener against Miami after recovering from a separated shoulder he suffered in practice on Aug. 6 that kept him out of the entire preseason.
“I think I’ll be ready to go. You won’t have to worry about me at all. I’ll be the same person I’ve always been, making plays and being the guy that brings the energy to this team," Jackson said on Aug. 25, via Andrew Walker of the team's official website.
The star wideout told fans not to worry about his status for Week 1, adding: "I'll be...making plays and being the guy that brings the energy to this team," relayed by Liz Clarke of the Washington Post.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Jackson saw his stats dip slightly in Washington's struggling offense last season, racking up 1,169 yards on 56 receptions while catching six touchdowns. Even so, he's expected to be a key cog in Washington's offense in the coming season.
Jackson is undoubtedly one of the NFL's most explosive and dynamic players, but that sometimes comes at a price. His speed is somewhat a product of his slight 5'10", 178-pound frame. He doesn't get hit a ton, but his durability can be an issue when he does.
The former Cal star has shown toughness over the course of his career, missing more than two games in just one of his first seven seasons in the league. With that said, he is quite susceptible to bumps and bruises.
