Ray Rice Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation Surrounding Free-Agent RB
Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, 27, is free to sign with any NFL team that will have him. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, "At least four teams have looked into signing [Rice], including the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts, though the Colts are not expected to pursue him."
Rice was suspended indefinitely by the NFL and released by the Ravens in early September after punching his then-fiancee, Janay, in an Atlantic City, New Jersey, casino elevator. The former Rutgers standout appealed the ruling, however, and it was overturned Friday, Nov. 28.

Colts Not Interested in Rice
According to Bob Kravitz of WTHR TV, the Colts are not interested in bringing the former Raven aboard:
Following the reinstatement announcement, Rice appeared remorseful for his actions and excited for the future, per ESPN.com:
"I made an inexcusable mistake and accept full responsibility for my actions. ... I am thankful that there was a proper appeals process in place to address this issue. I will continue working hard to improve myself and be the best husband, father and friend, while giving back to my community and helping others to learn from my mistakes.
"

The Colts are currently leaning on the underwhelming Trent Richardson and the inexperienced Dan Herron with Ahmad Bradshaw out for the season due to a broken leg, but even they are unwilling to take a chance on Rice.
Due to his character issues and declining play—he averaged a career-low 3.1 yards per carry and only 660 rushing yards and four touchdowns in 15 games in 2013—it stands to reason Rice may have a difficult time catching on with a team this season.
