Buffalo Bills (-3) over Cleveland Browns

Heading into this season, few—if any—expected the Bills and Browns to be facing off in a Week 13 battle that could have massive AFC playoff implications. But that's exactly where we are.
As the 7-4 Browns head to Buffalo, they're trying effortlessly to stay in the mix of an AFC North in which every team is three games or more over .500. Despite being on course for one of their best finishing records in recent memory, a loss could put them in last place in the division.
The Bills, on the other hand, rallied together through an epic Buffalo blizzard, which prevented them from practicing until Friday, to improve to 6-5 by drubbing the Jets, 38-3, at Detroit's Ford Field on Monday night.
The blizzard made Ralph Wilson Stadium inoperable for last week's game, but it will be a full-go there Sunday, per NFL.com's Albert Breer:
The Bills returned to their strong early-season form against the Jets, but improving to 6-5 has undoubtedly invigorated them, as it puts them right back in the middle of the AFC East chase. A couple teams—New England, Seattle—might be playing better, but nobody is feeling more confident.
On the other side, Cleveland squeaked out a last-second 26-24 win against the hapless Atlanta Falcons last week to avoid slipping into a two-game skid after an ugly 23-7 loss to the Texans in Week 11.
The tensions are high in any game with playoff implications, but this one has an added flavor of spice with former Bills player Donte Whitner and former defensive coordinator Mike Pettine now running the show for Cleveland, per Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot:
Once the game unfolds, the crowd reception will be the least of their worries.
The Browns have shown how they can get up for big games this season unlike many in recent memory, but struggles have come in bunches lately. Quarterback Brian Hoyer threw three interceptions against a poor Falcons secondary last week and went 20-of-50 in the Houston loss.
Does wide receiver Josh Gordon's return change some of that? Undoubtedly, but it's hard to predict if he will be a game-changer against a strong Buffalo secondary that gives up 214 passing yards per game. Plus, the Bills haven't allowed a 100-yard receiver since Detroit's Golden Tate in Week 5.
Where Buffalo can truly blow this game open, though, is in its running game, which should be able to control the trenches. While Cleveland boasts a 29th-ranked run defense, the Bills feature Fred Jackson and Bryce Brown, both of whom are coming off effective performances against the formidable Jets front line.
Both squads will enter this one with a must-win mentality, but the Bills are the ones playing like it.
Prediction: Bills win, 27-20
