WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from November 27, 2014

Erik BeastonNov 28, 2014

What was developing into an extraordinary match between Tyson Kidd and Finn Balor Thursday night on NXT was interrupted and ruined by The Ascension, who targeted Balor but soon found themselves in a war with him and tag team partner Hideo Itami.

Those two teams will meet on December 11 at NXT Takeover: R Evolution, an event that will also feature NXT tag team champions Kalisto and Sin Cara defending against the Vaudevillains, a feud that was unexpectedly and heavily featured Thursday night.

Bayley again found herself on the receiving end of a two-on-one beatdown by Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks this week, with no help from Charlotte, and Carmella continued her climb up the ranks in the NXT with a victory over an old nemesis.

As friends and families gathered to give thanks, these NXT Superstars and Divas were busy establishing themselves as winners or losers ahead of the upcoming live two-hour special.

Winner: Tyson Kidd

Tyson Kidd is a strong contender for one of WWE's MVPs of 2014, and Thursday night was an excellent example of why. Not only was his match with Finn Balor an excellent way to close out the show, his promo work before the competitors took to the ring was outstanding. In particular, his line about Justin Gabriel having a tendency to lose was golden and really put over just what kind of person Kidd is.

After all, if he is willing to throw his friend and partner under the bus like that, not to mention treat his wife the way he does, who else would he step over to get to the top of the industry?

Kidd is one of those characters who really had no right getting over or succeeding to the level that he has, especially when one takes a look at where he was on the card prior to his debut with NXT.

Since that time, however, he has turned in performances that have been nothing short of outstanding in his attempt to make a name for himself on any platform possible. Is he a star on the main roster? No, but his body of work this year rivals that of anyone regularly featured on Raw or SmackDown.

Loser: Bayley

No matter how over Bayley is, she cannot seem to catch a break with WWE Creative, which seems content with letting her look like a lovable loser.

Much was made of the build to her NXT Women's Championship match against Charlotte at Takeover: Fatal 4-Way. Then she lost. She received a much-hyped rematch weeks later. And she lost. Thursday night, she stood up to bullies...then she got beaten down by them.

Unlike Sami Zayn, who will almost certainly capture the NXT Championship on December 11 to end his story on a happy note, the future in uncertain for Bayley. A women's title victory would certainly lend credibility to her character while suitably paying off her struggles.

Otherwise, she is simply this beloved character whose popularity will never be repaid with any sort of real or sustained push.

Losers: Lucha Dragons

Compared to teams such as The Vaudevillains, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady and The Ascension, Sin Cara and Kalisto are among the least interesting tag champions possible. Sure, they dazzle fans between the ropes with high-flying maneuvers, but the lack of character development and the overbearing pandering to the audience with chants of "lucha" make it all the more apparent that fans do not care about the top duo in NXT the way they should.

In fact, odds are that The Vaudevillains receive more of the support come December 11 during the NXT Tag Team Championship match than the babyfaces.

That is never an ideal scenario, especially when it was Kalisto and Sin Cara who ended the monumental reign of Konnor and Viktor at the last huge two-hour event.
