WWE Main Event Results: Winners, Twitter Reaction and Analysis from November 25

The Doctor Chris MuellerNov 25, 2014

Welcome to Bleacher Report's recap of this week's Main Event. Here is where we take a look at what happened on the show, examining the winners, reactions to matches and any possible ramifications coming out of the program.

After delivering a very memorable Survivor Series, WWE managed to give us a pretty good Raw the following night. Let's see if they can make it three shows in a row without disappointing us with Main Event.

Miz and Mizdow vs. Los Matadores

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

The new tag champs opened up the show with a promo that saw Miz thank his own face instead of Damien Mizdow for helping him win the titles.

As usual, Mizdow was really over with the crowd. The relationship this team has with the fans is very unique. Miz gets heat; Mizdow gets cheered, but both men are on the same page.

It's more a testament to how good Mizdow is than anything else. Since he never really gets to speak, he's never the one insulting the crowd, so they have no reason to hate him.

Miz ended up winning after Mizdow did the work to get the pin. Miz wrestles a fast pace very well, so it ended up being a decent match.

Winners: Miz and Mizdow

Grade: B-

Notes and Highlights:

  • Mizdow looked disappointed that Miz didn't thank him. It'll be interesting to see how long WWE waits to have Mizdow turn on Miz for being mistreated.
  • It's surprising neither of the Matadores has lost their mask in a match. It's not like Rey Mysterio's, where there is a strap holding it on. They are wearing little more than bandanas. You would think one would have fallen off by now.
  • El Torito has lost any appeal he once had. Los Matadores would be better off without him at this point.

Twitter Reaction:

Fandango vs. Adam Rose

Fandango picked up a predictable win over Adam Rose after he knocked The Bunny off the apron and then hit his signature leg drop from the top rope.

There was nothing special about this match in terms of action, but they didn't have much to work with. Both of these guys rely on a few key moves, so the filler in between can feel boring.

Rosa seems to have adjusted to her new role very well. She was really performing beneath what a Diva should be capable of as a wrestler, but she makes good eye candy.

Winner: Fandango

Grade: C-

Notes and Highlights:

  • It was only a matter of time before the two gimmicks that involved dancing met in a match.
  • Fandango's new gimmick is less entertaining. You can't even hum along to his theme song anymore.
  • Byron Saxon's comparison of The Bunny to a Homecoming Queen felt like he was revealing a little more about his own personal life than he wanted to.

Twitter Reaction:

Natalya vs. Layla

Natalya and Tyson Kidd were backstage in front of some Thanksgiving food when Layla and Summer Rae walked in. Some insults were exchanged that led to Nattie getting hit in the face with a pie.

Natalya was still dirty when the match started, so she was understandably aggressive. Layla still ended up taking control and keeping it for a good amount of time.

There were a few high points, but it was a pretty basic Divas bout. At least Natalya ended up winning with The Sharpshooter to make up for having to take a pie in the face.

Winner: Natalya

Grade: C+

Notes and Highlights:

  • Natalya is getting the Mickie James treatment with some of her recent booking. They may as well have Layla and Summer Rae start calling her a pig like Layla and Michelle McCool did to James.
  • This storyline with Kidd and Natalya is dragging on forever. They have been doing the same things over and over for weeks. There needs to be some progression.
  • Summer and Layla are nowhere near as entertaining as LayCool was.

Twitter Reaction:

Kane vs. Dean Ambrose

Despite their size difference, these two make great opponents for one another. Dean Ambrose is just crazy enough to take away Kane's size advantage, but he will still sell for Kane to make him look like a monster.

A good example is when Kane stopped Ambrose in his tracks during a suicide dive with a straight right hand to the face. Ambrose made it look like he had run straight into a brick wall.

Kane may have more WWE experience than Ambrose, but both of these men are veterans in the ring. They know how to do all those little things that make their matches stand out from the rest.

Ambrose picked up the win with a roll up in what was easily the best encounter of the night.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

Grade: B+

Notes and Highlights:

  • If Kane is no longer Director of Operations, why is he still wrestling in slacks? He should return to his old tights.
  • Ambrose should have acted more injured after being buried under a ton of chairs on Monday.
  • It's weird how Ambrose just stopped paying attention to Rollins after what happened at Hell in a Cell. He should go after Rollins and Wyatt so they can eventually have a Triple Threat match at a pay-per-view.
