Fantasy Football Week 12 Rankings: Last-Minute Outlook for Flex Players
Sunday morning can be a hectic time for fantasy owners—especially those late-risers who roll out of bed just minutes before kickoff (you know who you are). That, of course, is accompanied by a frantic dash to the computer in an effort to set the best-possible lineup before the first wave of games get underway.
But, here's the thing: How perfect of a starting lineup could you possibly set without the latest updates regarding your players? Wouldn't it be better to have a lengthy list at your disposal that ranks flex players and highlights potential injury concerns?
Well, look no further.

Notable Week 12 Flex Plays
Marques Colston, WR, New Orleans Saints

Colston hasn't been a reliable fantasy option for several years now. This season, he's continued that trend, scoring just once and eclipsing the 100-yard mark twice. He may be coming off of four consecutive weeks scoring five fantasy points or fewer, but he's in for a chance on Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens are dealing with an injury-plagued secondary, and that's led to the team giving up an average of 24.6 fantasy points per week to opposing wide receivers, the fifth-most in the NFL. Before a Week 10 meeting with the Tennessee Titans, Baltimore gave up at least 21 fantasy points to wideouts in six of their previous seven games.
Colston has long been one of quarterback Drew Brees' favorite targets, and the receiver is in line for more touches Monday due to the absence of Brandin Cooks. The rookie was placed on season-ending injured reserve due to requiring surgery on his wrist, according to Field Yates of ESPN:
Helping Colston's cause is the fact that the Ravens have been rather solid against tight ends this season. Baltimore has only given up two touchdowns to the position, making Colston a viable option in the red zone Monday night.
Odell Beckham Jr., WR, New York Giants

This rookie will make for a solid fantasy play in Week 12. The last time the Giants faced off against the Dallas Cowboys, Beckham had his coming-out party, catching four passes for 34 yards and scoring two touchdowns while rushing once for a 13-yard gain. The 16 fantasy points he earned in that game remain his most of the season.
He hasn't scored again since that contest, but in his three following games, he tallied 156, 108 and 93 yards, respectively, while catching no less than six passes. He's become Eli Manning's go-to guy, and that trend should continue in Week 12 against a Cowboys defense that's allowed at least 18 fantasy points to opposing wide receivers in each of its last four games.
We should be expecting much more of this Sunday night:
Dallas is more than capable of lighting up the scoreboard, and that should force New York into many passing situations, giving Beckham an increased amount of opportunities to rack up fantasy points for his owners. Last time around, Rueben Randle was targeted two more times than Beckham. Expect that to change now that the rookie is established as the team's top threat.
Bishop Sankey, RB, Tennessee Titans

Sankey has been a relative disappointment for fantasy owners who were willing to gamble on the rookie in their drafts this year. The running back has yet to rush for more than 61 yards in any contest this season and has only reached paydirt twice. The result is one double-digit fantasy performance.
There is a strong possibility the Titans ball-carrier will get his second on Sunday.
He's established himself as Tennessee's top back, if only by default, and has garnered the lion's share of the workload out of the backfield. His matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles sets him up for a performance that won't light up the fantasy scoreboard but will be more than welcomed in the flex position.
The Eagles haven't allowed more than 96 rushing yards to any opponent in their last six contests. However, during that span, they also gave up a rushing touchdown to opposing ball-carriers four times. Philadelphia knows this, and the team is wary of Sankey, according to Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com:
With rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger moving the Titans offense more efficiently, Sankey should get some carries in the red zone. That was the case in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers when the rookie notched a touchdown run, and that will continue Sunday.
