WWE Survivor Series 2014: Live Stream, WWE Network Start Time and Match Card

Mike ChiariNov 23, 2014

The 2014 Survivor Series pay-per-view is going back to its roots, as WWE's second-oldest event will be headlined by a traditional five-on-five Elimination match with huge stakes on the line for both sides.

John Cena's squad will take on Team Authority with the power of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon on the line. If Team Cena loses, however, his partners will be fired.

It can be argued that the rest of the card is lacking to some degree with so much talent in the main event, but the Superstars and Divas performing on the undercard will likely view that school of thought as a challenge.

Top Matches to Watch

Team Cena vs. Team Authority

Cena and The Authority have been at odds at various points throughout the year, which is why their meeting at Survivor Series is so fitting. The match would be big regardless of the circumstances surrounding it, but the stipulations undoubtedly make it that much more important.

Per orders of Vince McMahon, Triple H and Stephanie will lose control of WWE if their team falls Sunday. As evidenced by Triple H's promo on SmackDown, he has no intention of stepping aside, according to WWE Universe:

The stakes were raised for Team Cena as well when The Game announced that Cena's four partners will be fired if they lose. If Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Erick Rowan and Ryback weren't already motivated to win, they certainly are now.

Cena is known for his inspirational messages and tweeted one that seemed to be in reference to his Survivor Series teammates:

There figure to be plenty of moving parts in this match, but Team Cena has to be considered the favorite. Triple H and Stephanie's loss of power would be quite interesting, while Cena may have an ace up his sleeve.

Randy Orton hasn't been seen since The Authority took him out a few weeks ago, so don't be surprised if he interferes on Team Cena's behalf in his hometown of St. Louis.

Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt

Since Bray Wyatt interfered in Dean Ambrose's match against Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell, WWE's Lunatic Fringe has made it his goal to get his hands on The Eater of Worlds.

Most of their interaction thus far has been on the microphone, but they will finally lock horns in a grudge match at Survivor Series. Ambrose and Wyatt are two of the most unstable and psychotic Superstars WWE has ever seen, so this won't be a technical affair by any means.

Wyatt has taken some personal shots at Ambrose during the build toward Survivor Series and has even made mention of his father, as seen in this tweet courtesy of WWE Universe:

It is unclear if Wyatt's attempts to get inside Ambrose's head have worked, but the former Shield member has seemed outwardly undeterred and insists that he will come out on top Sunday:

Both Ambrose and Wyatt have been on the receiving end of some big losses in recent months, which means either rising star would benefit from a win. With that said, Wyatt is the monster heel WWE presumably wants to build as a big threat.

Because of that, look for Wyatt to pick up the victory, which is a result that should build even more sympathy for fan favorite Ambrose.

AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella

As one of only two title matches on the Survivor Series card, there will be a great deal of focus on the Divas Championship match between AJ Lee and Nikki Bella.

Nikki has been rising through the Divas division ranks quite rapidly of late, and much of that has to do with her sister, Brie. Nikki defeated Brie at Hell in a Cell, which meant Brie had to become her twin's personal assistant according to the match's stipulation.

Over the past month Nikki has embarrassed Brie and forced her to do plenty of things against her will. Survivor Series represents Brie's final night as Nikki's assistant, and it will be interesting to see what type of role she plays in the match.

AJ has managed to get the better of Nikki for the most part leading up to the pay-per-view, but Nikki is determined to come out on top:

Brie is going to have a big hand in how this match plays out. Based on the manner in which she has been treated by Nikki, the likeliest scenario is that Brie will cost her sister the match, and WWE's Black Widow will retain.
