Jordan Zimmermann Gives Steven Souza Jr. Best Buy Gift Card for Saving No-Hitter
Pitchers often give their catchers gifts when they win an award or throw a no-hitter. Washington Nationals pitcher Jordan Zimmermann knew he also needed to get outfielder Steven Souza Jr. something for preserving his no-hitter in the final game of the 2014 regular season.
Zimmermann no-hit the Miami Marlins on Sept. 28. However, on the final pitch of the game, it looked like his no-no was going to be broken up by the Marlins' Christian Yelich. Luckily, Souza was there to save the day with an incredible catch.

Souza's catch finished off the first no-hitter in Nationals history—although the feat had been accomplished by the Montreal Expos.
Immediately after the game, Zimmermann said he'd buy Souza "anything."
According to Bill Ladson of MLB.com, Souza received a Best Buy gift certificate from Zimmermann.
"I cannot disclose the amount," Souza said. "He gave a gift certificate to help me out for my house. It was very thoughtful."
It doesn't really matter what the amount is. It's a great gesture by the pitcher, rewarding a teammate for making a miraculous play in such a big moment.
