Team Cena vs. Team Authority to Main Event Survivor Series
The Survivor Series main event between Team Cena and Team Authority finally got sorted out on the go-home edition of Raw when both sides settled on five members. In addition to that, The Authority's power will be on the line, but the Team Cena members will be fired if they don't win the match.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Which Team Will Prevail?
Team Authority was unchanged on Raw as Seth Rollins, Kane, Rusev, Mark Henry and Luke Harper will represent Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Team Cena featured a shake-up, though, as Sheamus was knocked out of commission, which means John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Erick Rowan and Ryback will oppose The Authority.
Rowan shockingly revealed himself to be Sheamus' replacement, and Ryback finally decided to join Team Cena after initially insisting that he would only look out for himself. While the build was somewhat disjointed and even nonsensical at times, the five-on-five elimination match has a chance to be extremely entertaining.
Based on the stipulation that was attached to Cena's team on SmackDown, however, it can be argued that the result is now blatantly obvious.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
It was certainly bizarre that The Authority initially had to put its power on the line without Cena risking anything, but the decision to make it something as drastic as the Team Cena members being fired is questionable. It's possible that Team Cena could lose and somehow get their jobs back over the course of a couple weeks, but that wouldn't make for particularly good television since it is quite clear that how that angle would ultimately end.
With that in mind, it would have made more sense to put Cena's WWE World Heavyweight Championship match on the line. At the very least, that would have created some doubt. It isn't crazy to think that WWE could take the No. 1 contendership away from Cena and go in a different direction.
If fans weren't already leaning toward Team Cena winning, the new stipulation almost cements it. When push comes to shove, though, Team Cena winning is the best option since Triple H and Stephanie being ousted is the most interesting storyline that could come from this match. One can only assume that they will do everything possible to get their power back after a loss, and that will make for some entertaining television.
Also, with Randy Orton potentially waiting in the wings, it is easy to imagine him interfering on Team Cena's behalf and cementing the face turn he seemingly made before being written off a few weeks ago.

Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt Set to Settle the Score
Since interrupting Dean Ambrose's match against Rollins at Hell in a Cell, Bray Wyatt has set out to make The Lunatic Fringe's life a living hell. Ambrose is still out for revenge after Wyatt cost him the biggest match of his career, and they will finally do battle in the semi-main event of the evening at Survivor Series.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Who Will Come Out on Top?
Although Wyatt hasn't exactly explained his actions, his promos have focused on the pain Ambrose has suffered over the course of his life. Wyatt mentioned that Ambrose's father was in prison, and Wyatt has offered to be Ambrose's savior. Ambrose has been predictably resistant, and he even managed to get into Wyatt's head to some degree on Raw after being the subject of The Eater of Worlds' mind games for several weeks.
The overarching premise is that Wyatt is attempting to use Ambrose's psychotic ways against him; however, there hasn't been enough time and attention paid to this angle to make it feel truly important. It is undoubtedly the No. 2 match on this card, but Survivor Series is extremely shallow to begin with, so that is by default more than anything. With that said, Ambrose and Wyatt have an opportunity to steal the show without much competition standing in their way.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
Ambrose is most definitely one of the best in-ring workers WWE has to offer, but he will have a big challenge on his hands come Sunday. While there is no denying that Wyatt has a captivating character, he has struggled to put on truly entertaining matches. Ambrose is the type of Superstar who may be able to elevate him to unseen heights, but Wyatt has to hold up his end of the bargain as well.
There are several reasons why this feud seems somewhat ill-timed and ill-advised, but chief among them is the fact that both Ambrose and Wyatt are young, up-and-coming stars who don't need to take a loss at this juncture. Wyatt was squandered to some degree by having him get decimated by Cena, and Ambrose lost a couple big matches to Rollins. Both would benefit greatly from coming out on top Sunday.
Due to the fact that Ambrose is a great, sympathetic face who garners even more fan support when he loses, though, it seems likely that WWE will have Wyatt go over. WWE does risk ruining Ambrose's momentum if he loses, but it can be argued that it has already happened since he was removed from the main event in favor of a secondary feud with Wyatt.

Breaking Down Remainder of Survivor Series Card
To call the Survivor Series card thin would be an understatement, but it isn't particularly shocking since the main event features 10 of WWE's biggest Superstars. Aside from that match and Ambrose vs. Wyatt, WWE has also announced AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship, a four-on-four Elimination Divas match and a Fatal 4-Way bout for the Tag Team Championships.
Question on Everybody's Mind: How Will the Rest of the Card Shake Out?
While none of the undercard matches have been booked with a particularly good build, WWE needs them to exceed expectations or else it runs the risk of putting on a mediocre show. In terms of match quality, all three undercard bouts could be fairly solid.
AJ against Nikki Bella should be better than it looks on paper due to the fact that Nikki continues to improve in the ring. The Divas elimination match has potential as well since almost everyone in that match can go in the ring, which wasn't the case when a similar contest was held last year.
As for the Tag Team Championship match, it would undoubtedly be better if WWE allowed four Superstars in the ring at once. It seems likely that there will only be two at a time, though, which limits the potential to some degree. With that said, all four teams can go in the ring, and it figures to get entertaining when things break down into chaos.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
The Divas Championship match between AJ and Nikki will almost certainly be decided by Brie Bella. Brie has been acting as Nikki's personal assistant since losing to her at Hell in a Cell, which means she has essentially been at her mercy. Since Brie is presumably growing tired of her sister's abuse, though, look for her to cost Nikki the match with AJ retaining.
Things are a bit murkier when it comes to the Divas four-on-four match since it was a late addition. Since Paige is coming off a Divas Championship reign and is the future of the division, though, it would make sense for her to stand tall as the sole survivor.
The Tag Team Championship match is also difficult to predict, but The Usos and Los Matadores are least likely to come out on top. The Usos just had a lengthy run with the straps, while Los Matadores haven't been a focal point within the tag division.
Due to the pure entertainment factor of The Miz and Damien Mizdow along with the scenarios that winning the titles could create, the expectation is that they will come away victorious, which means Gold and Stardust will be left empty handed.
