Week 11 NFL Picks: Latest Betting Odds, Vegas Spreads and Projections
After a turbulent Week 10 of the 2014 NFL season, Vegas oddsmakers went back to work and created game lines for all 14 Week 11 contests. Although, due to several surprises from the past week of madness on the gridiron, some spreads are rather interesting.
Will the Chicago Bears be home favorites against the Minnesota Vikings after getting pummeled by the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football? Will the Detroit Lions be road favorites against the Arizona Cardinals due to the loss of Carson Palmer? Does the change at the quarterback position make the Houston Texans favorites over the Cleveland Browns?
These questions have already been answered, so let's go ahead and take a look at the game lines for the full Week 11 slate and predict the winner against the spread for each contest.

Pick Analysis
Minnesota Vikings (+3.5) at Chicago Bears

Let's just get this out of the way: The Bears are not a good football team right now. Chicago has yet to win a home contest this year, and that will continue in Week 11 against the Vikings if quarterback Jay Cutler continues to flounder.
Despite having plenty of weapons at his disposal, Cutler continues to struggle with accuracy and ball security on a weekly basis. Sunday night against Green Bay, he completed 22 of his 37 passing attempts for 272 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for a passer rating of 68.8.
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports summed up the quarterback's performance perfectly:
A 45-yard touchdown strike to Brandon Marshall turned out to be the only offensive points the Bears would score for the full 60-minute contest.
The Bears get the Vikings in Week 11, and that's not going to be any kind of help for Cutler. While Green Bay's pass defense is very good, Minnesota's is even better. The Vikings are ranked fourth in the league in pass yards allowed, giving up an average of just 213.6 per game.
Prediction: Vikings 27, Bears 20
Detroit Lions (even) at Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are on a fantastic run, boasting an NFL-best 8-1 record heading into a Week 11 contest against the Lions. A clash between Arizona's potent offense and Detroit's stout defense was expected to be a highlight of the season; however, things took a turn following a catastrophic injury to the Cardinals quarterback Sunday.
Palmer tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter:
Once the signal-caller left Sunday's game, backup Drew Stanton took over. He fared well in a limited role, completing three of his five passing attempts for 85 yards and a score; however, Stanton is completing just 49.5 percent of his passes in four games this season, ranking lower than any other starting quarterback.
While Stanton has been able to produce a few wins this year, that won't be the case against a Lions defense that ranks first in yards allowed, third against the pass, second against the run, first in points allowed and stifled Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill to just 207 passing yards in Week 10.
Prediction: Lions 26, Cardinals 17
Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns (-3)

The Browns are the top-ranked AFC North squad following a 24-3 drubbing of the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football. Houston is slated to come to town Sunday and is coming off a bye week with a new quarterback under center.
Ryan Mallett's strong arm always made him an intriguing prospect, but after years of sitting behind Tom Brady in New England, he wasn't able to rack up much experience. ESPN Stats & Info tweeted exactly how much the quarterback's played during his NFL career:
That inexperience is great news for the Browns secondary. Cleveland has been very good against the pass this season, ranking 12th in the league in that department and second in the league with 13 interceptions through nine games.
After playing on Thursday, the Browns were given some extra time to prepare against Mallett and shouldn't be in for much of a surprise. Don't expect to see smooth sailing from the Texans' new signal-caller against this Cleveland defense in Week 11.
Prediction: Browns 23, Texans 16
