Ethier might be seen as a bit of a reclamation project. He had the worst season of his career in 2014. He hit just .249 with four home runs and 42 RBI, all of which were career-lows.
He appeared in 130 games because of injuries, which was his lowest total since his rookie season. Still, the 32-year-old Phoenix native will draw some interest because of his sweet left-handed swing and his past production.
From 2008-2012, Ethier averaged 23 home runs and 83 RBI. He never played in fewer than 135 games during that span, and his batting average never dipped below .272.
Perhaps the Arizona Diamondbacks might look into acquiring the former Arizona State Sun Devils legend. Ethier and his wife were recently inducted into ASU's Hall of Fame.
Because of the lack of quality left-handed hitters in the majors, Ethier might fetch more than most .249 hitters. Considering the way his season went in 2013, he might welcome the change of scenery.
