44-Year-Old Mother of 6 Sets New Women's Beer Mile Record by 13 Seconds
Chris , a 44-year-old mother of six, demolished the women's record on a beer mile, running it in 6 minutes, 28.6 seconds on her first-ever attempt, according to BeerMile.com.
explained to Alison Wade of Runner's World that it wasn't the alcohol or the running that was the most difficult part but the carbonation:
"The run part wasn't that hard for me. The last two [beers] were harder to get down because I felt like there was this air there, so it wasn't going down. Having all those beers in [my] stomach didn't really bother me as much as I thought it would. I think learning how to get the burp out more before you get to that next beer would probably help.
"
and men's record holder James Nielsen are friends and have run races together. One of the key differences in their times comes in Nielsen's ability to drink beers quickly, spending roughly 30 seconds drinking compared to 72 seconds.
