WWE SmackDown Spoilers: Complete Results and Analysis for November 7, 2014

On the heels of a Monday Night Raw that saw The Authority leave Randy Orton lying in a heap, Mark Henry do the same to the Big Show and the first-ever WWE Network exclusive match featuring Rusev defeating Sheamus to capture the U.S. title, World Wrestling Entertainment rolled into Albany, New York, for this week's SmackDown tapings.

With all eyes on the Survivor Series tag team main event pitting Team Cena vs. The Authority, it would be interesting to see if any Superstar stepped up to the plate and threw their name into consideration for a spot on either of the squads.

WWE Tag Team champions Gold and Stardust entered the event in desperate need of a victory following a series of losses to the Usos and Los Matadores. To achieve that victory, they would have to remind fans of why they are tag champions by beating former titleholders Jimmy and Jey Uso in a huge Steel Cage match. Did they, or did the twins begin a second championship reign?

Speaking of the cage, WWE Intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler and Kane continued their side program with a match that played out in the middle of the steel structure. What further punishment awaited the Showoff and, more importantly, would he be able to survive until Survivor Series and remain part of Team Cena?

• WWE Tag Team champions Gold and Stardust defeated The Usos in a Steel Cage match.
• Ryback pinned Cesaro.
• R-Truth pinned Adam Rose with a roll-up. After the match, Rose attacked The Bunny and left with the rest of the Rosebuds.
• Christian returned to host the Peep Show with Dean Ambrose. Naturally, Bray Wyatt interrupted and a brawl between the rivals erupted.
• Summer Rae pinned Natalya with a roll-up after Tyson Kidd distracted his wife.
• WWE Intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler defeated Kane in a Steel Cage match.

Analysis

The current European tour left WWE with somewhat of a depleted roster in terms of bona fide star power, but the result was some young talent stealing the spotlight and a main event pitting two of the secondary members of the Survivor Series main event capping off this week's SmackDown with a steel cage match.

Dolph Ziggler and Kane have worked well in recent weeks and given a steel cage to mask some of Kane's deficiencies at this point in his career, the two former heavyweight champions have the opportunity to steal the show with a really entertaining main event and, in the process, add more attention (and heat) to the upcoming pay-per-view headlining bout.

The Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt rivalry has, to this point, been somewhat underwhelming. At the same time, it is still relatively early in the program, and a solid brawl between the two of them to end Friday's installment of the Peep Show might be just what the doctor ordered to inject some energy into the feud.

Tyson Kidd and Natalya have had a bumpy 2014, as any fan of NXT or Total Divas can attest to. It appears as though their issues will boil over to the main roster programs in the coming weeks, as fans have bared witness to both on Raw and now, on SmackDown.

Whether the Randy Savage or Miss Elizabeth-inspired angle can finally get the talented Kidd over is a mystery, but what is not is that he deserves the spotlight based on the outstanding work he has turned in as one of the MVPs of NXT.

Finally, Adam Rose's attack of The Bunny was teased last week on the Halloween episode of SmackDown and seems to be pointing toward a change in attitude for the party-loving Superstar. After a failed first six months with the company, it is imperative that WWE Creative attempts to change fan perception of the character that landed on televisions with a THUD.

Can they? Only time will tell.
