Vince McMahon Announces Stipulation to Team Authority vs. Team Cena
The Authority might not make it to the new year.
Vince McMahon, WWE's chairman of the board, announced on the Nov. 3 edition of Raw that if Team Cena beats Team Authority at Survivor Series, then Stephanie McMahon and Triple H will abdicate their roles of power, per Marc Middleton of WrestlingInc.com.
The company celebrated McMahon's return to WWE television:

After the chairman made his declaration, The Authority went about putting together their team for Survivor Series:
WWE author Kevin Sullivan is already envisioning a future without The Authority:
"No Authority? Don't tease me, Vince. #Raw

The new stipulation certainly adds more drama to a pay-per-view that's lost some luster over the years. While Survivor Series is still considered one of the big-four PPVs, it remains stuck behind WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble and SummerSlam.
It will be interesting to see which direction the company goes with Survivor Series.
Effectively disbanding The Authority seems an unlikely outcome. Seth Rollins still has the Money in the Bank briefcase, and The Authority remain one of the strongest aspects of Raw. Why mess up a good thing?
With that said, doing so now allows time to build something new going into the Royal Rumble and eventually WrestleMania in 2015.
In addition, should Daniel Bryan make a surprise return, toppling The Authority would be the natural conclusion of his feud with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
If Team Cena wins, John Cena could also reveal himself to be some sort of evil mastermind, making his long sought-after heel turn.
Either way, Survivor Series can't come soon enough.
