Le'Veon Bell, LeGarrette Blount's Instant Fantasy Reaction Following Week 9

When a quarterback such as Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers throws six touchdowns as he did in Week 9 in a 43-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens, there is not much room for production on the ground for backs such as Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount.

Of course, there is room for fantasy production through the air, should a back come equipped with a versatile skill set. Bell has that, of course, as the final numbers from Sunday show:

Chalk it up as Bell's seventh game in a row in the realm of double digits as one of fantasy's most reliable producers regardless of matchup.

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller sums up the consensus on this year's fantasy breakout star quite well:

As one can probably imagine, then, Blount and his 20.1 percent of owners are left hanging by a thread, hoping that the offense eventually reverts to a run-first approach. Hint—that will not be happening as long as the Steelers continue to charge ahead on this three-game winning streak.

Blount has reached double digits just once this season and scored just twice, so it should go without saying that he can be left on the wire for a rainy day. Then there is Bell, who is a matchup-proof option with no exception who should be dearly clutched at all costs.

It says a lot about Bell's fantasy impact that he can still have such value despite a pass-first approach in Pittsburgh. A more well-rounded, consistent back is quite difficult to name at this point in time.
