Alfred Morris, Roy Helu's Updated Fantasy Reaction After Week 9
Robert Griffin III's return to the lineup understandably drew a ton of attention. It also coincided with a return to fantasy stardom for Alfred Morris.
The Washington running back rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 29-26 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. After struggling mightily for long stretches with Kirk Cousins under center, it appears Morris is back in a groove. He's scored each of the last two weeks while rushing for more than four yards per carry, a feat he hadn't accomplished beforehand since Sept. 25.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
A skilled one-cut runner, Morris' value is intrinsically tied to Griffin being in the lineup. Griffin's presence forces defenses to pause an extra beat on most running plays, and Morris is skilled at taking advantage of those creases. It appears he's less of a fit for Jay Gruden's offense than Kyle Shanahan's zone-blocking scheme, but he gets enough work to be an RB2 going forward.
| Alfred Morris | 19 | 92 | 4.8 | 2 | 2 | 17 | 8.5 | 3 |
| Roy Helu | 3 | 6 | 2.0 | 0 | 4 | 46 | 11.5 | 5 |
Backup Roy Helu, meanwhile, is the factor holding Morris back from being a true No. 1. Helu continued his stellar work in the passing game Sunday, catching four balls for 46 yards. While he's done well in the limited carries he's received this season, the former Nebraska star is clearly being used in a situational role. Eight of the first nine games have seen Helu grab multiple passes, and Sunday was the fifth time he's gone over 40 yards.
There is nothing of consequence fantasy-wise for Helu unless Morris gets injured. If that happens, though, he'd be atop every major waiver-wire list. With Griffin back (for now), there's major value to be found in the Washington backfield.
