Ryan Tannehill, Charles Clay, Mike Wallace's Post-Week 9 Fantasy Reaction
Both quarterbacks in Sunday's Week 9 game between the San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins were pulled in the second half. One was pulled for a combination of performance issues and a hand injury, per the Chargers on Twitter. The other's team was so far ahead it didn't want to risk injury.
You probably guessed the former was Ryan Tannehill and the latter was Philip Rivers. You would be wrong.
Tannehill threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns for the Dolphins, who blasted San Diego 37-0 at Sun Life Stadium.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
| Ryan Tannehill | 24/34 | 288 | 8.5 | 3 | 0 |
| Charles Clay | 5 | 65 | 13.0 | 1 | 8 |
| Mike Wallace | 3 | 50 | 16.7 | 0 | 8 |
The third-year quarterback spread the ball around beautifully, with 10 different Miami players having at least one reception. Charles Clay, Rishard Matthews and Jarvis Landry were at the receiving end of Tannehill's touchdown passes, all of which came deep inside San Diego territory.
Viewed as being on the brink of bust-dom earlier this season, Tannehill has led Miami to three straight victories and appears to be rounding into form. The former Texas A&M star has thrown multiple touchdowns in four of his last five games and has started toning down on his turnovers. With the Miami defense playing well, Tannehill's ascent is making the Dolphins a legit wild-card contender.

Clay, who had five catches for 65 yards and a score, remains an intermittently effective force. His value doesn't rise much beyond a mid-tier bye-week replacement. Tannehill uses him as a safety valve, not as an integral fixture within the offense.
More interesting might be the value of Mike Wallace, who had three catches for 50 yards Sunday. The high-priced wideout still gets targeted enough to have some value, but it's clear Tannehill prefers spreading the ball around. Four players received at least six targets against San Diego.
Wallace's big-play ability makes it hard to bench him most weeks. Maybe it's just time we recalibrate our expectations down to a flex play rather than a WR2.
