
Brandon Moss Injury: Updates on Athletics Star's Recovery from Hip Surgery
Oakland Athletics slugger Brandon Moss underwent surgery to repair his torn right hip labrum Thursday, but he's expected to be ready for the start of spring training in 2015.

Slusser also noted some positive news:
Fighting the injury for much of the second half of the season, Moss hit an atrocious .173/.310/.274 with just four home runs and 15 RBI over his last 58 games and 216 plate appearances. His struggles coincided with Oakland's sudden fall from the top of the league.
Fortunately, even if the recovery takes longer than expected, the 31-year-old should be fully healthy with plenty of time before Opening Day. That will give him an opportunity to rediscover the form that helped him hit 21 homers and slug .530 in his first 89 games.
