Josh McRoberts Injury: Updates on Heat Star's Foot and Return
Miami Heat power forward Josh McRoberts will miss Sunday's contest against the Milwaukee Bucks with a foot injury.
The Heat confirmed the details prior to the game:
A journeyman that bounced around between five different teams in his first six NBA seasons, McRoberts enjoyed a standout year with the Charlotte Bobcats in 2013-14, earning himself a four-year, $22.65 million contract with the Heat in the summer.
While he's never someone who will carry a team on any given night, McBob is an underrated all-around contributor. He can rebound, defend, stretch a defense with his shot and pass extremely well. He's one of the best big men in the league at the latter, as he finished last season behind only Joakim Noah and Gordon Hayward among forwards and centers in assists per 100 possessions, per Basketball-Reference.com.
ESPN Stats & Info added to that:
Unfortunately, McRoberts missed the entire preseason after undergoing toe surgery, and now this will serve as another obstacle in his ability to contribute for his new team.
Should he be forced to miss a significant chunk of time, Erik Spoelstra will turn to a combination of Shawne Williams, Udonis Haslem and others to help fill the void.
