NFL Scores Week 7: Results and Top Fantasy Football Stars for Sunday Games
The NFL's commitment to parity was on full display in Week 7, as some notable upsets likely have many fans wondering if they can trust their favorite teams—and favorite fantasy football studs—to perform week in and week out.
The lowly St. Louis Rams put together their most complete game of the season in a 28-26 upset win over the Seattle Seahawks, who dropped to 3-3 on the year and hardly resemble the dominant squad that won a Super Bowl last season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Cleveland Browns 24-6, despite three interceptions from rookie quarterback Blake Bortles. The Detroit Lions offense came to life in a comeback victory over the New Orleans Saints, while the Indianapolis Colts blanked the Cincinnati Bengals and are clearly the class of the AFC South.

Top Fantasy Performers from Early Games
Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are looking quite vulnerable after back-to-back losses to the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams, but if anyone is benefiting, it's fantasy owners of Russell Wilson. The dual-threat signal-caller had a fine performance that should put to rest any lingering notion that he's more of a game manager who relies on a defense and strong rushing game to play well.
| CMP/ATT | YDS | TD | INT | CAR | RSH YDS | TD |
| 23/36 | 313 | 2 | 0 | 7 | 106 | 1 |
With injuries to tight ends and a thin wide receiver corps, Wilson is finding himself in scrambling mode a bit more often than he would like. He was the only player to reach the century mark on the ground at one point in the day, per ESPN Stats & Info:
Combine that with plenty of pass attempts as the Seahawks struggle to put games away early like they did last season, and Wilson could be a lock as a top fantasy football performer from here on out.
Matt Forte, RB, Chicago Bears

Jay Cutler struggled in the Bears' 27-14 loss to the surprisingly tough Miami Dolphins, leaving running back Matt Forte to pick up the slack on offense. The versatile back picked up 109 all-purpose yards on 18 touches and scored the Bears' only two touchdowns on the day.
He picked up the first on a 10-yard pass from Cutler in the third, then plunged in from the 1-yard line midway through the fourth quarter. Forte picked up 22 fantasy points on the day, but he certainly made his owners sweat it out. Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times relayed his paltry first-half stats:
Forte now has over 400 yards rushing and 400 yards receiving on the year. His ability to get involved in the offense, even when it is struggling, makes him one of the more reliable contributors in the league. His two-touchdown performance brings him to five scores on the season.
If he continues to reach the end zone with consistency, Forte could finish the season as the top fantasy running back in the league.
Sammy Watkins, WR, Buffalo Bills

Sammy Watkins came up big for the Buffalo Bills in their 17-16 comeback win over the Minnesota Vikings. He's established a quick rapport with veteran quarterback Kyle Orton, who found Watkins in the corner of the end zone for the winning touchdown with just one second on the clock. SportsCenter tweeted about the play:
Watkins finished the game with nine receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Orton targeted him 14 times in the contest, showing that he has complete trust in his budding star.
Watkins has had some down games this season, as one should expect from a rookie wideout, but he's worthy of starting as a WR2 in most leagues.
Cooper Helfet, TE, Seattle Seahawks

Cooper Helfet is wholly deserving of the Deepest Sleeper Rip Van Winkle Memorial Award. If this guy was anywhere on your radar before Week 7, you're a soothsayer. Essentially the last man standing in the Seahawks' injury-ravaged tight end corps, Helfet turned in a solid performance on a slow day at the office for tight ends around the league.
The third-year pro finished with 12 fantasy points in standard-scoring leagues, the majority of them coming on a dazzling 25-yard touchdown grab early in the fourth quarter. John Boyle of the Everett Herald made light of Helfet's relative anonymity:
The Duke University alum had just two career catches coming into this game, so if he was on anyone's fantasy team, it was a brilliant move or some sort of joke pickup, like drafting Glen Coffee after his early retirement.
If tight ends Zach Miller and Luke Willson miss any more time, Helfet might be worth a waiver-wire grab in 12- or 14-player leagues.
