The Washington Wizards defeated the Detroit Pistons in Washington today 91-89.
John Wall led the Wizards in scoring with 15, though Kevin Seraphin had 14 (6 in the final quarter). Andre Miller came off the bench to dish out 11 assists for the Wiz, including the game-winning assist to Seraphin.
The Pistons were led by their Twin Towers- Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond. Drummond was 9-9 from the field for 21 points and 7 rebounds, while Monroe scored 17 points to go along with 11 rebounds.
The Pistons were coming off of a win against the Milwaukee Bucks that featured a 20-point game from second-year player Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who left today's game with a knee injury.
The Wizards were defeated by the Charlotte Hornets in their last preseason game, a game that saw Bradley Beal break his wrist, per a statement by the Wizards. The talented guard will miss up to two months, adding to injury concerns that the Wizards already had.
Up next for the Wizards will be Iraeli outfit Maccabi Haifa B.C., where they will look to continue their success with bench players.
The Pistons will look to bounce back against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday.
