More Evidence That Tony Bernazard is Crazy

JoeSportsFanJul 23, 2009

Make no mistake about it, Tony Bernazard will freaking cut you.  And when I say “cut you”, I don’t mean the Mets Vice President of Player Development will relieve you of your duties via the standard MLB process, I mean he will pull out a switch blade and put it on you if you piss him off.

You see, Tony Bernazard has a bit of a temper problem.  Reports have surfaced that recently the 52-year old former MLB player challenged the entire Binghamton Mets AA team to a fight in the locker room, calling them a “slang term associated with a woman’s anatomy” and ripping off his shirt in the process - because, if CT has taught us anything its that taking off your shirt means you’re really ready to bust some heads.

Upon reports of Bernazard channeling his inner-Hulkster in the locker room, New York Post blogger Bart Hubbuch relayed a story that, just a few weeks ago, Tony B got into a heated debate with current Mets closer Frankie Rodriguez.

As an anonymous source from the team is quoted as saying in the Hubbuch story, the guy is crazy.  Don’t believe me?  Just so happens that I’ve got the photographic evidence to prove it:

Exhibit A: Here is Bernazard just seconds before he headbutted a team employee for asking when he was due back at the McDonald’s drive-thru in reference to his BlueTooth headset.

Exhibit B: Moments after this picture was taken, Bernazard (far left) actually climbed over Fred Wilpon and threw a wild haymaker at Willie Randolph when Randolph said he thought that Steve Guttenberg was the weak link in the movie Three Men and a Baby.  Lesson learned - do not talk bad about Steve Guttenberg vehicles in the presence of Tony Bernazard…

Exhibit C: In 1983, Tony coaxed the 12-year old clubhouse attendant over to him with his seemingly friendly smile before launching into a 15-minute, expletive-laced tirade chastizing the boy for mistakenly placing Ron Kittle’s lucky #14 pajamas in Bernazard’s locker in place of his normal uniform…

Exhibit D:  In a standoff that began during the photo shoot and lasted four hours, Bernazard is seen here locking eyes with a squirrel across the field who he claimed “stepped up to him”.

Note the one common theme - do not screw with Tony Bernazard.

And pray that he keeps his shirt on.
