Stacy Undergoes Surgery on Ankle

Friday, Nov. 13

Jets head coach Todd Bowles confirmed Stacy's season is over after having his fractured ankle repaired on Friday, per Darryl Slater of NJ Advanced Media.

Newsday's Kimberly A. Martin snapped a picture of Stacy being attended to by team trainers before he was taken back to the locker room:

Stacy Injury Shouldn't Impact Jets' Game Plan

Stacy has been an erratic runner in his career, which led to the St. Louis Rams' decision to phase him out and eventually trade him to New York in May. The new situation presented the 24-year-old with an opportunity to reinvent his career, though this injury won't help.

The Jets have established running backs with Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell both on the depth chart, so they can get by without Stacy. However, Stacy has returned a handful of kicks for Gang Green this season.

Entering Thursday night, he was averaging 21.7 yards on nine returns this season. Stacy had also tallied 31 rushes for 89 yards and a touchdown over his first seven appearances prior to getting carted off.
