Marvin Jones' Updated 2014 Fantasy Outlook Heading into Week 5
The Cincinnati Bengals were arguably one of the NFL's best teams through three weeks this season, and after a bye in Week 4, they get a big boost on the offensive side of the ball due to the return of wide receiver Marvin Jones.
Joe Danneman of Fox19 in Cincinnati tweeted the news:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Offensive coordinator Hue Jackson has been a revelation in Cincinnati this year. He's added new wrinkles to a squad filled with versatile and dynamic playmakers en route to the league's seventh-ranked offense, averaging 384.0 yards per game. When asked about the return of Jones by Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Jackson had this to say:
"Oh yes, I can't wait. He can run and catch. Not only does he take the top off, he scores a lot of touchdowns, too. This is a fun part about our guys. We have a multitude of different guys that you can use...
...He's another one of our talented players. We will just add him to the mix of A.J. and Mo and the rest of the guys and see how it fits.
"
In 2013, Jones racked up 51 receptions for 712 yards and 10 touchdowns despite remaining on the field for just 50 percent of the team's snaps on average, according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required). During his last four games played last season, Jones saw a spike in time on the field and produced these results:
| 15 | Pittsburgh | 9 | 5 | 48 | 1 |
| 16 | Minnesota | 7 | 6 | 85 | 0 |
| 17 | Baltimore | 7 | 5 | 61 | 1 |
| WC | San Diego | 12 | 8 | 130 | 0 |
His rapport with quarterback Andy Dalton was wildly apparent, as Jones' late-season flourish allowed him to finish second on the team in targets with 80, just behind All-Pro receiver A.J. Green (180). His 10 touchdowns were also second on the team, and John Buccigross noted his league standing in red-zone production:
That's some pretty good company.
Through three games in 2014, Dalton has really spread the love around the offense. He's targeted four players at least 10 times, and three players lead the team with 12 receptions. Although, aside from Green, Cincinnati doesn't have another weapon capable of stretching the field.
While Green has four receptions of at least 20 yards, only running back Giovani Bernard—who relies on his ability to create yards after the catch—has more than one. In 2013, Jones finished the season with 10 such receptions—once again, finishing second only to Green (18). Expect Jackson to implement the speedy receiver in this fashion immediately, giving the offense another dimension.
Should Jones pick up right where he left off when he returns in Week 5, he will bring immediate value to fantasy owners. After all, Josh Moore, a fantasy guru and owner of 4for4.com, tweeted his take on the receiver's return:
Jones will have a great opportunity to show his stuff Sunday night against the New England Patriots. While New England is still ranked first in the league against the pass, it had no answer for the speedy playmakers that reside on the Kansas City Chiefs' offense in Week 4 on Monday Night Football.
Currently, Jones is only owned in 0.9 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues, and owners will be highly rewarded for nabbing him from the waiver wire. While he comes in as a bench player or bye-week starter, Jones has the upside to become a legitimate WR2 for the remainder of the season.
Don't hesitate to add this receiver before his value severely escalates.
