NBA Live 15 Player Ratings: Blake Griffin and the Top Dunkers and More

Brian MaziqueSep 29, 2014

The ratings for NBA Live 15 have been coming hot and heavy since last week. The latest ratings reveal tells us who the premier high-flyers will be in this year's game.

It should come as a surprise to no one that Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin is the top dunker. We've obviously seen Griffin's aerial exploits since his rookie season (2010-11), but Griffin is also a prolific slammer.

Per CBSSports.com, Griffin—who is also the highest-rated power forward in NBA Live 15—threw down 176 dunks during the 2013-14 season. That was the fourth-most in the league. While there were three other players with more slams, if you combine volume with style, Griffin is the game's best dunker.

Here's a look at the complete top five.

  • Blake Griffin, 98, Los Angeles Clippers
  • DeAndre Jordan, 97, Los Angeles Clippers
  • Dwight Howard, 96, Houston Rockets
  • LeBron James, 95, Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Gerald Green, 93, Phoenix Suns

Just behind Griffin is his teammate, and the man who led the league in slams last season, DeAndre Jordan. Along with leading the league in rebounds, field-goal percentage and finishing fourth in blocks, Jordan continues to prove himself to be one of the most athletic 7-footers the game has ever seen.

We'll never forget the slam Jordan put on then-Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Knight. That was during the 2012-13 season, but Jordan had quite a few impressive flushes last year as well.

He deserves to be in the No. 2 spot and perhaps more respect in the overall ratings. He isn't even among the top-five rated centers despite his outstanding campaign last year.

In any case, with Griffin and Jordan garnering the top two dunk ratings, there's no doubt Lob City is in full effect in NBA Live 15.

Rounding out the top five are two players who are also the top-rated guys at their positions: Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard and the game's best player, Cleveland Cavaliers small forward LeBron James.

The Phoenix Suns' Gerald Green is the only player in the top five who wouldn't be considered a superstar. But there's no disputing his amazing dunking ability. Green is a premier high-flyer whose windmills slams are a thing of beauty.
