Dolphins vs. Raiders: Score and Twitter Reaction from Wembley Stadium
In a matchup of two teams in desperate need of a win, the Miami Dolphins leave London with a 38-14 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
It was a game that was truly never in question as the Dolphins ran away and never relinquished the lead after the first half. The Dolphins' official account provides a look at the final score from Wembley Stadium:

The Dolphins were led by Ryan Tannehill, who shook off questions about his performance earlier in the week to rout the Raiders. Tannehill finished the game at 23-of-31 passing for 278 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Even with the speculation coming in about his starting position, Tannehill responded in dominant fashion on Sunday. James Walker of ESPN.com passed along his thoughts on the third-year quarterback:
Miami started the season with a crucial victory over the division-rival New England Patriots, but had lost two straight games by a total of 38 points. During the last two games, Joe Philbin's confidence in Tannehill appeared to be in question.
Prior to the Week 4 contest, Tannehill referenced the handling of the position, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:
"It creates a bunch of stir and a bunch of distraction in the locker room, mostly from the outside coming in and guys having to deal with the distraction of it. It’s not a good feeling.
... Does it feel good to deal with all the distractions that have been created because of the situation? No. That’s life. You face distractions. You face adversity in life. You have to fight through it and become a better man, a better player because of it.
"
Part of the reason for Tannehill's great day was a fast start from receiver Mike Wallace. In his second year with the Dolphins, Wallace has looked resurgent and was a weapon for Miami against Oakland.
A disappointing 2013 has been all but forgotten for the wideout as he caught his third touchdown of the season on Sunday. ESPN Stats & Info points out how well Wallace has performed in recent games:
Wallace also spoke about his quarterback's great day, via Jeff Darlington of NFL.com:
By the end of the game, Wallace had three receptions for 35 yards, finishing behind Brian Hartline and Jarvis Landry, who combined for 112 receiving yards. Tannehill was looking to make a statement, and did so by sharing it with his potent receivers.
Lamar Miller also got in on the action, making plenty of noise on offense by showing a nose for the end zone. Miller had 12 carries for 64 yards and two rushing touchdowns on the day. The lead back for Miami had never reached those numbers in his career, per ESPN Stats & Info:
The two struggling franchises squared off in Wembley Stadium in front of a crowd that was predominantly filled with fans of the Silver and Black. Despite the huge following in London, the team was unable to put on a performance that would continue growing the fanbase.
Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald noted the reaction from the crowd:
Part of the reason for the Raiders' scuffling was the inability on offense, starting with rookie quarterback Derek Carr. In his fourth game under center, Carr went 16-of-25 for 146 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
The situation got worse for Carr as he was ultimately replaced by Matt McGloin following a knee injury, per Around the NFL:
McGloin was able to pass for a touchdown, but had two interceptions during his time on the field. It was an ugly end to a disastrous day for the Raiders, who dropped to 0-4 on the season after the loss.
Neither Raiders quarterback was helped by the inept ground game. Oakland had 53 rushing yards, with Darren McFadden toting the ball 11 times for just 40 yards.
Following the loss, the Raiders still have a daunting schedule moving forward. Oakland hosts the San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals following a Week 5 bye. That slate doesn't get any easier with the team facing the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos and Chargers again midway through the year.
Miami, on the other hand, heads into the bye at .500 and with confidence in the offense. Matchups against the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears will prove exactly where this team stands following the bye, with a chance to compete in the AFC East.
