When Arizona Diamondback starting catcher Chris Snyder went down with a back strain in late June, Miguel Montero was thrust into the starting lineup.

Since then he's been on a tear.

In the month of July, Montero is hitting a remarkable .383 with 3 HR and 6 RBI.

In a recent series against the St. Louis Cardinals, Montero batted 7-12 with 2 HR and 2 RBI.

This isn't a fluke either. When Montero has been giving playing time he has performed.

In August 2008, Montero batted an incredible .429 with 4 HR and 4 doubles in just 29 at-bats.

If you're weak at the catcher position or you're stud catcher is slumping, the hot Montero is a smart pickup to insert into you're starting lineup.
