Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com provided an update on the situation:
ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky added thoughts from head coach Ken Whisenhunt:
This would help explain the two interceptions and 50 percent completion rate, but regardless it does not bode well for the player's chances of competing in Week 4. This will likely put Whitehurst, 32, in position to get his first start since 2011, when he was with the Seattle Seahawks.
The former third-round pick has been in the NFL since being taken in the 2006 draft. However, he has only made four career starts, going 1-3 with a 64.6 passer rating. Despite the lack of experience, the Titans signed the veteran to a multi-year deal this offseason.
Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean notes the journeyman has the support of the coaching staff:
On the plus side, Whitehurst does enter a good situation with a wide array of talented targets around him. Delanie Walker is quickly becoming one of the better tight ends in the NFL while Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter and Nate Washington can all help him put up big numbers.
In a similar situation last season, backup Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 2,454 yards and 14 touchdowns in 11 games. If Whitehurst can put up these numbers, he would at least be worthy of a waiver pickup in fantasy football and a start in favorable matchups or as a bye-week fill-in.
However, Fitzpatrick had a lot more experience than Whitehurst and even these average numbers seem too hopeful. The upside is simply not there for the former Clemson star, especially with rookie Zach Mettenberger likely to push for playing time in any potential extended absence for Locker.
Fantasy owners looking for a quarterback would be better off grabbing another free agent like Kirk Cousins or Ryan Tannehill. For high-upside, long-term projects, look to rookies Blake Bortles or Teddy Bridgewater.
