2014 Fantasy Football Waiver-Wire Advice: Week 3
There were some unusual heroes this week. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington Redskins
Cousins threw for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns in relief of Robert Griffin III. Grab him if your quarterback pool is shallow, but there are likely better options on your waiver wire in shallower leagues. If nothing else, he should be a solid QB2.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
Matt Asiata, RB, Minnesota Vikings
Asiata had 84 total yards and a touchdown starting in place of the deactivated Adrian Peterson. Now that Peterson has been reinstated, Asiata becomes less certain of an add. Roger Goodell could use this opportunity to get some public favor, so Peterson isn't out of the woods yet.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
Knile Davis, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Davis ran for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Denver Broncos. He added 26 receiving yards. Jamaal Charles has a high-ankle sprain, making Davis a nice replacement.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
Bobby Rainey, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rainey rolled for 144 yards against the St. Louis Rams. He added 30 receiving yards. He’s worth a look, especially if Doug Martin misses another game.
Ruling: Get ‘em.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Miles Austin, WR, Cleveland Browns
Austin caught six of 10 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown against the New Orleans Saints. He’s not a strong add at this stage of his career.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
Jason Avant, WR, Carolina Panthers
Avant caught five of seven targets for 54 yards and a touchdown against the Detroit Lions. He’s never been a quality fantasy asset.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
James Jones, WR, Oakland Raiders
Jones caught nine of 14 targets for 112 yards and a touchdown. He scored last week as well, making Jones a solid add.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
Mohamed Sanu, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
Sanu caught three of four targets for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons. With A.J. Green banged up, Sanu should see extra looks next week against the Tennessee Titans.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
Owen Daniels, TE, Baltimore Ravens
Daniels caught five catches for 28 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He’s a great second tight end for the Ravens, but not for fantasy teams.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.
Larry Donnell, TE, New York Giants
Donnell caught seven of nine targets for 81 yards against the Arizona Cardinals. Last week, he had 56 yards and a score. Donnell looks like a borderline TE1.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
Niles Paul, TE, Washington Redskins
Paul caught eight of 11 targets for 99 yards and a score one week after collecting 86 yards. He also looks like a borderline TE1.
Ruling: Get ‘em.
